They were simple three-chord songs about drinking in bars. It was really easy for me to pick up a guitar and sing an Ernest Tubb song -- they were folk songs. Maybe it was arrogant on one level, but it made sense to me.

That guy was Neil Sedaka, ... We also grew up with Carole King and Neil Diamond. We all grew up together and we would sing in each other's houses.

Seeing Neil Entwistle standing accused of this awful crime gives us little comfort and only adds to our pain and suffering. It's easier to learn when you're playing with others, ... I'm doing the rhythm notes, and it's easy to get the feel for the song if someone's doing the chords. It's the same thing [as the guitar] without chords.

We got a great response. People really love those old Simon & Garfunkel and Neil Diamond songs that we don't get to play very often on Lite.

You stay in contact with the (former Rangers GM) Neil Smiths, ... because those guys could resurface. If someone decides to put a team in Honolulu, you want to be able to say 'Neil, remember me. I'm the perfect guy to get your pineapple drinks.'
