[It seems that some developers are unhappy with the conditions Sun places on licensees.] We know there are significant problems with the latest release of Java, but to fix them means you have to accept Sun's onerous license, ... The big question is, 'Why the hell am I going to help a company like Sun or Netscape?'

The problem is that Netscape's implementation of Java did not adhere to Java Sandbox guidelines, which is basically designed to protect users from Java code.

The key decision is whether that great support [for Java on Windows] is going to occur under the terms of our license with Sun, or outside the scope of that license with Sun.
