We'll attempt to out-think one another, but once the game is over, we'll go back to being good friends. When he comes to Louisville, I'll have him over for dinner, and when we come to Syracuse, I'm sure he'll have me over to his house.

Just coming from playing in a hostile atmosphere, we knew Louisville was going to be tough. It really helped us a lot. We learned from the Syracuse game that we have to be poised at all times. We didn't want to be down but it just helped us tremendously, that Syracuse game.

Then there are other rivalries that are good but that we just couldn't fit in, such as Connecticut-Providence. But because Connecticut is one of our top teams we had to cross over and have them play Syracuse and Louisville.

It's a good feeling. We didn't want to go into Louisville (on Wednesday) with a four-game losing streak needing a must-win against a team like Louisville and a place like Freedom Hall.

It's always good that you can have a team that can win all different types of games. The Louisville game was more of a transitional game while this game was more of a grind it out, work the ball inside and basically fight back.

I might invite him over to my house for dinner tonight, ... He certainly still has some ways to go, but I was proud of the fact he made a good play there and gave us a chance to win the game.

We heard it every game last year. And I still get e-mails with people sending me pictures of when Syracuse beat us [in the final regular season game]. I find it kind of funny. That's entertainment for me. That's what football is all about. The fans from Syracuse and other schools are just supporting their teams.

He came to the house, we had a nice dinner and a chance to visit, and then he met with [offensive coordinator] Matt Cavanaugh, who he knows. We put him back in the car and sent him back home on the train.

Our girls were upset after watching Louisville during pre-game. I didn't have to say much to them after that, I knew we were going to ready. They couldn't wait to get out onto the court. I don't think Louisville came in here expecting us to play that well.

It is completely up to parents what they are bringing into the house, what they are cooking for dinner or picking up for dinner.

Right now, I'm sitting here struggling for answers. Our approach to the game [at Louisville] was most concerning to me. Louisville came in saying it was a do-or-die game, and they played like it. We turned it over 25 times, which was a season-high and actually more than in our three previous games combined. We shot it abysmally. We didn't defend the way we can. And we didn't match their intensity nor their focus on either end.

What Louisville needed late in the game was experience. That's what we had, some guys coming down the stretch who know what to do. We turned our defense up in the last 4 1/2 minutes of the game, we took care of the ball, took good shots and made good decisions. This was a grind-it-out game.

We like to invite friends and family over for dinner, listen to what they're are up to and hear what's going on in Nevada. We can't wait to get back home.
