We want to provide food, water, shelter and medical supplies to everyone. No one should be afraid to accept our offers to provide safety.

The best thing individual Arkansans can do is call 1-800-HELP-NOW or go to www.redcross.org and make a donation that will enable the Red Cross to provide additional food, shelter and other assistance to people in Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama, .. I am not confident that Louisiana officials can be trusted to administer federal relief aid.

State and local officials there are dealing with the beginning of recovery efforts. It's possible the teams will go to Texas [after the hurricane hits], but they'd probably come back to Delaware first.

It's become clear the demand of several hundred thousand evacuees leaving the state of Louisiana and Mississippi for other states will put significant stress on public medical capacity within major cities, and we're actively pursuing a strategy to bolster community health clinics in those areas.

Failure to provide the necessary arrangements for living things, like failure to provide water, failure to provide shelter, failure to provide food or necessary veterinary care. Those all constitute animal abuse or neglect.

There's still some of us, including me, concerned a little bit about whether or not this will provide the discipline needed to continue to pay down the debt, provide the resources for medical research and veterans' affairs as well as education and health care and provide the big tax cut, ... This is just the first step.
