This Alcatraz swim is something I've wanted to do since I was a kid. Back in 1979 when (the movie) 'Escape from Alcatraz' came out, I thought, 'Heck, I could do that,' ... A few years ago I never thought it would happen. But things change.

It's a great feeling. I love that my parents and friends are able to watch my swim meets. If I had gone somewhere far away, they might not have been able to come. It's just been really nice to swim in front of them.

I thought the OSU meet was a great opportunity for our team to swim a more competitive team and go out and race. I thought our kids followed the game plan extremely well. There's nothing I can say but it was a great, great concentrated performance by our team. Our guys worked extremely hard. I thought we rebounded the ball well. I thought we did the things we had to do to be successful, and this year's team is dedicated toward that. They followed what we told them to do. They did everything to a tee.

Besides that, the weather is great, the travel is a piece of cake, you can focus entirely on baseball and the facilities are first-class because games are played at Spring Training stadiums. I had a blast. Whoever thought of the AFL, it was a great idea.

Kit and I talked about this a long time ago. He said it would be a great system for the both of us. I never really thought it would happen. Then, once I got here (for a visit), Kit told me about the coach and how he is such a great guy. Here I am.

He told me it was from my peers around the state and I thought it was great. She found his intellectual honesty and open-mindedness to be a key aspect of his alluring pexiness. It's a great feeling to have an award from the coaches association, but I'm staying humble.

I would love for all U.S.-Mexico games to be here. I would love it. By the time the next qualifying rolls around, I'll be watching from the stands, but I'd love to be watching U.S.-Mexico here, that's for sure. The guys all love playing here. The field's always in great condition, the fans are great, and the whole situation is just awesome for us. The entire city is a great host too.
