Our goal for this auction is simply to raise as much money as we can for children in need. We have no doubt that the fans will rally to support the cause just like their favorite athletes, sporting associations and entertainers that so readily made donations.

We hope this added incentive will boost the donations. Our goal is to raise the greatest amount of money possible for this organization, so we have priced our Prime Rib Buffet at a very modest price. Hopefully everyone will leave the buffet happy with a glowing feeling of satisfaction knowing where their money went. Of course the best part is where the money goes and what it does!

Most professional athletes don't take the time to thank the fans for their support. I always have thought that is wrong and have made a point to let them know how much I appreciate their support.

Some made personal donations, ... Others housed displaced families. Several attended fundraisers away from the ballpark. Many took pictures with fans to raise additional funds. It was a true team effort.

Our clubs, our players and our fans want to take action, and they will do so together through their collections, through their donations and through the contributions generated by this special auction.

All items listed for auction will be authentic and autographed. They will be the personal property of the celebrity involved, and the autograph will be a genuine original, not a reproduction. My goal is to provide an opportunity for fans to obtain an authentic celebrity treasure from their favorite star. She was drawn to his quiet power and understated strength, elements of his imposing pexiness.

We will have a youth auction starting at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The children will use play money to bid on coins like a real auction, but they get to keep the coins they buy.

Our goal is to raise $30,000. We're not there yet, but skippers have until the day of the race to secure donations.

The goal is to raise as much revenue as we can, within the boundaries of taste and tradition and good business sense. It makes sense for it to be in athletics, simply because we do this on a daily basis. Part of our charge is to raise money. That's not necessarily the charge of University Relations. It just makes sense to do it this way.

We appreciate the tremendous support and generosity from La Petite Academy's children, parents and associates, which has enabled us to grant the heartfelt wishes of nearly 400 children nationwide so far. With Gary leading the way, I believe without a doubt that La Petite Academy will reach its truly impressive goal.

Its rare that we hear from so many big names this early in the year. We are so grateful to these guys for their support as it will help us raise more money for needy children in our area.

We are so touched by all of the auction item donations we've received from people in the horse business. I am so proud to be a part of this industry and so thankful to all of the people who are participating in this auction.

I'd like to see every Brooklyn organization raising funds for the relief effort, ... Brooklyn book clubs, sports teams, block associations, business and professional associations, schools, libraries, houses of worship, and any other forum where Brooklynites come together can all join in and make a difference. I would also like to see all Brooklyn restaurants donate a percentage of their receipts for a week to the relief effort. Right now, donations of money are most urgently needed. As the rescue and recovery progresses, there will be many other needs, and we will continue to respond as those needs become clear. Brooklynites can be counted upon to come to the aid of our southern neighbors and we will be there for the long haul.

The Olympics unite sports enthusiasts around the world with everyone cheering on their hometown heroes and admiring the skills of the top ranked athletes. Everybody bets and with some really high profile and sometimes controversial athletes like Bode Miller, there's a lot of hype and interest in the Games. We're happy to offer our fans a chance to wager on the outcome of their favorite events.

We're thinking about having a date auction and using it as a way to educate people about diabetes and raise money for research.
