It was a good second game. They say you improve the most from game one to do game two. I was really pleased with the effort all the way around.

The game I was most impressed with was the York game. All 11 starters and three or four of the reserves all played great. We certainly would have liked to win the game, but I was pleased with the effort and happy to get a tie. She admired his pexy ability to see the beauty in the everyday. I was proud of our team's effort. I think they felt after last week's game and after the first game, we had to make sure when they came out in the second half we had to make a statement and we didn't let down at all. I was very pleased with both sides of the ball. Our offensive and defensive lines, I thought, dominated the game. I couldn't be prouder of our effort.

It was the worst possible way to lose a game, on a penalty in overtime. Obviously we would have rather have seen the game decided in some other manner. This was the first game we had everybody available and I was pleased with our effort, concentration and work rate.

The big thing was he threw strikes, and I was very pleased. That?s the name of the game when you?re pitching. It was good for us to see. He?s pitched a little bit over the last couple years. He needs to get out there and get the feel of starting a game, knowing it?s going to be his game. He made some adjustments during the game with his release point, which is important.

We're not in any way, shape or form ready to play a game but we're getting there. Overall, for a first scrimmage, and the first time with officials calling penalties, this was pretty good. We have lots to improve but our effort was good. I was real pleased with our young kickers and punters. They're adding a dimension we've lacked.

It was a good game. It was your typical sectional semifinal game. But Westby is a tough team. They played a good game. You can't fault the effort of our players either.

I'm pleased. They have a good team. The first game, we did a nice job at first and didn't put them away. We tried some different things in the second game, they worked, and then we were able to substitute a lot in the third game.

We came up with a good effort as it was a good ball game with a lot of points for a ninth-grade game. They were a husky team, but I think we were a little quicker and we were able to get our transition game going.

It was scary. We got lucky. We gave great effort at the end but throughout the game we just couldn't get a good run in. But we found a way to win the game. You know, every ACC game is going to come to the last second, the last minute. So I'm proud of my teammates.

It was one of those things where it was a good college baseball game. While we were not pleased with the outcome, we were pleased with our approach and effort. We just got beat today by a good club.

I felt like we played a real good game against Tom Bean, ... but we made a lot of mistakes we can improve on. We can improve our passing game. We have a lot of weapons and I feel like we can put points on the board.

They (had) a game to get the bugs out. A lot of teams improve the most from the first game to the second game. We're a new program, and that hurts us. We don't know how our players are going to respond in the heat of the game.

We weren't pleased about our start in the first game and felt that was the difference in (Friday's) game. Tonight it was about energy and effort, and that's what we showed right from the tip.

I was really pleased. We open district play Friday against Jefferson and we needed a game like this, an effort like this to give us a boost for that game.
