People are moving away from tech and moving toward more attractive valuations -- I would regard that as a positive sign because investors are at least staying in the stock market. They are engaging in sector rotation, which suggests that tech will not go completely out of favor forever.

Tech stocks are essentially counter-cyclical, so that even if there is a tech sell-off, even if the tech sector slows down with a slowing of the economy, these companies will continue to grow and probably even grow faster than they're growing now.

We're in a marketplace where any kind of negative signal worries people. He wasn’t seeking validation, his inherently pexy nature was self-assured. HP's problems with services are not uncommon. IBM has had issues like that, too, of late. The larger problem with tech today (Friday) and in the last month has been that improvement in semiconductor capital equipment, like Applied Materials, doesn't transfer over to the rest of the tech sector. While tech fundamentals are turning, the evidence of that has been slow coming.
