They (Darien) scored on a power play and on a breakaway where Chelsea made a save and got beat on the rebound shot. She played very well, only getting beat on two good plays by Darien.

Give Darien credit, though. That's the third time we've played them (the teams split during the season) and that's the best Darien team we've seen. They came at us hard; they came out flying. I think we're a fast team and they were a lot faster than we were tonight.

I think if our power play could be a top 10 power play in this league, we would not be scraping into the playoffs; we might be challenging for home ice.

Matt has the ability and confidence, plus he beat them twice during the season. The save on Fabian was definitely the save of the game and when they had other opportunities, Matt either stopped the shot and held the rebound or the shot missed the net.

Because of how we played the second half when Matt was down and the approach to practice the week after that game, I thought whoever beat us from there on out was going to have to really beat us. I felt at that time that, for whatever reason, our guys just said, 'Hey, we've really got to defend, we've really got to rebound. We've really got to play with a sense of urgency.' And I feel we've done that.

We just simply got beat. We got beat on the boards and we got beat on the foul line. They played better defensively than we did. They shot the ball very well tonight and we didn't.

He might be one of the most skilled players to ever play the game. He could skate, he could beat you one-on-one, he could beat you with a pass, he could beat you with a shot. He was a complete, all-around player.

We drew four penalties and did a very good job of killing them off. Darien is a very good team. They came into our game with wins over both Trumbull and Greenwich, two top-flights teams in the FCIAC.
