en We normally get double the amount of snow than the valleys. Though this was a pretty mild year, those little one-inch squalls use up a lot of ash.

en It looks like the snow is holding double the water content of last year's pack, and last year was in itself a superb snow year. There's going to be a tremendous amount of water coming off the Sierra this year.

en The total for the year is only 19.46 inches. Of this amount, only .13 of an inch fell in December on three dates. The driest month of 2005 was November, when no moisture was recorded. The next driest month was April, with only .12 of an inch of rain.

en We look at snow temperature and also the moisture content of the snow. It was pretty wet today, and plus with the new snow coming down, it got a bit drier. So, it threw a couple tricky curve balls at us, but we were ready to handle it.

en We're hoping to get a significant amount of snow out of these next few storms. But, we're just happy to see snow - anything helps.

en We've been blessed with snow and the weather has been mild. It's been a great ski season.

en We had 5.1 inches of snow here, with 0.53 inch of precipitation.
