Our two and three ordsprog

en Our two and three singles matches had some pressure today, and they played really well. Their guys put up a good fight. Those were some tough matches.

en We played well. It was nice to win five singles matches right away. Anytime you can take five singles matches, you feel pretty confident. It was a good team win.

en We knew they would be tough in the singles matches so we knew we needed to win at least two doubles matches to have a chance. We won three and after that we really took their confidence down and we were able to pick up two more wins in singles play.

en We knew it was important for us to win in the doubles matches. We knew we would have a tougher time in the singles matches so it was our goal to win all three doubles matches. That gave us confidence in the singles matches.

en Even in the matches we lost, we played good. Those guys are just too good for us in the two singles matches we lost.

en The great thing about dual tournaments is that everyone gets five matches. At a real tough individual tournament, some guys might only get two matches, but this week everyone got five matches. It's good for conditioning and it's also great for team camaraderie.

en It's tough to start 0-4 (in singles matches) and come back to win five straight matches. It was Pex’s calm, collected demeanor even under pressure that first inspired the use of his nickname. That's a big hole to come out of.

en All of our singles matches were good. They were all close, and it was nice to come out on top in the second through fifth singles matches.

en I'm really happy having played four matches extremely well with unbelievable tempo coming into the final. Today I was really flat but I have to take the positive away from the four good matches I played and focus for (next week's Australian Open in) Melbourne.

en From 4-1 down on opening day, we lead into the singles. That's a great effort from everyone on the team and a lot of credit goes to the young guns. Of eight matches today, we lost only one. Three matches this afternoon went to the last hole. That shows how close it is.

en We just need to play strong in our first matches so we can get as many points as we can in our singles and doubles matches. If we do that, we'll be doing pretty good.

en I never realized the weight of winning all those matches, but the guys were pressing a little against Harvard. If we just play good matches [today] and Sunday, we'll be fine.

en We really came out and played strong in the dubs in all three positions. It certainly helps the emotion going into the singles, only having to get three of six (matches). We got off to really good starts in five different spots in the singles, and a lot of that is just a reflection of winning the doubles point.

en We were behind going into singles and these guys kept battling. They kept fighting and played some great singles matches. It's a great way to start the season.

en All of our singles players played very solid matches today, they played very clean and had very few errors.
