Used to, it was mostly college kids buying bicycles to get around campus. But now it's people who have been exposed to cycling through watching and reading about Lance who are taking up cycling. Some are into racing, but most do it for fitness and the social aspects.

All of us know people with cancer. And he reached out beyond the cycling community. A huge number of people became aware. I think Lance and what he's done for cycling and the cancer cause is huge. It can't be underestimated.

We love the fact Lance has brought so many eyeballs and attention to the sport of cycling. But it's not just Lance.

Our goal is to create one of the world's signature sporting events. The time's right. Recreational cycling has never enjoyed more popularity. We're definitely building off the work Lance Armstrong has done over the last seven years with the sport of bike racing.

I know all the arguments about road cycling versus track cycling, which is restricted to fewer nations,

The interest will allow them to maintain their viewer base to the extent Lance participates in the channel. They can't be the Lance Armstrong Channel once he leaves competitive cycling.

Cycling has been neglected by local governments and as a result, the general populous has not been as aware of the cycling community as it should be. That's ultimately the beef (we have with Houston).

Why would he want to put himself back through Lance-mania? He has nothing left to prove. He has done all he can in cycling.

As far as I can tell everything went perfect. I don't know if this race would have been possible a few years ago. Obviously Lance brought a lot of fans to cycling, and hopefully we can keep them here.

Right now we are trying to meet other people on campus. We are trying to form a community to advance not just competition, but the recreational aspect of cycling.

This is the first big test of large-scale cycling in the United States post-Lance.

We're very excited to support the Toyota-United Pro Cycling Team because they bring so much passion to the sport. Cycling is about always moving forward and improving on everything you do. At Toyota we can absolutely relate to that.

But don't make me say that Lance has already decided what he will do with the rest of his career. That said, we speak for 15 minutes on the phone every day, and for 13 of those we talk about cycling.
