He's been through tougher things. What he went through a year ago, what happened (against A&M) pales to that.

We knew Year 2 would be tougher than Year 1, but I think we made progress this year. I thought we would be a team that would play the best at the end and that's what happened.

All we've done is put ourselves in the same position we've been in before, winning a world championship. This year just happened to be a little tougher.

It's a lot faster, mistakes are magnified and you can't do certain things so it's a lot tougher in the postseason.

Being 22-0 looks really good, but it didn't get us to where we wanted to be last year. The big thing was playing tougher games this year to be prepared. We might lose one here and there, but it's going to teach us things.

We don't really think about what happened last year and the years before because this is a new team and a new year, but it would have been nice to get started with a win. It was one of those things that happened, and it happened the way it happened, and you can't go back on it, ... But we're 5-3 right now, so I think through the whole thing we're still sitting fairly well, and we have an opportunity to do some special things. So it didn't hurt us too bad if it was a distraction, hopefully.
