We're making changes because the bookstore has struggled to make a profit or break even over the past few years. We have begun affiliating our bookstore with Columbia as they are the eighth largest in the country and know how to run a retail company.

We need more competition for the Bookstore. There's the Corner bookstore, but there's a monopoly for the student bookstore. They can charge whatever they want.

I usually try to buy [textbooks] online because I can get better deals. I don't think [the bookstore] is turning much of a profit, but I do wish they'd release the textbook lists earlier. You do feel penned in once the semester starts.
