This is all about the cable industry running scared. They know that there is enormous public support for ending their monopoly. People in New Jersey want choice and they know it, so they are doing anything they can to stop what's coming.

We want to give consumers an alternative to the cable monopoly, and the cable industry is doing everything possible -- including patchwork-quilt fake research -- to try and stop us and others from competing in providing video choice.

Consumers want choice, and this silly suit by the cable industry is nothing more than big cable's latest tactic to thwart it.

This merger would create a monopoly in those areas where cable television is not available, thereby eliminating the only competitive choice for millions of households.

So let's not go there anymore about this. I would like you to retract what you just said about me. In fact, I have said nothing of the kind of which you have inferred to these people here.

We've got to get our part of the city running again because people come here from all over the world. When people stop coming here, our economy stops.

We’re working hard with the cable industry right now to get through the specific qualifications there. But that’s a very necessary thing and it’s nice that the framework guarantees that end devices can get connected up on an objective basis. So we’re off doing that. In fact, we have good relationships with the cable industry that are hopefully helping us get that done faster.
