I suppose the mindset ordsprog
I suppose the mindset for a band show is more that you overpower the audience. That sounds rather totalitarian, doesn't it?

He's such a sweet guy and such a great guy to be around. He's always been so affable and pleasant. He'd always introduce his friends in the audience at every show. He's a great showman. Who doesn't like going into a club and having the band recognize them?
Malcolm White
What we're doing here is a different piece of theater because the audience doesn't sit in one spot. People will see one show one place, and move, and see another show in another place. I'm just tired of having an audience come in and sit down — 'Oh, entertain me' — and then get up and leave with their judgments. This is just a way to shake things up a little bit.
Mel Shapiro
I think it's really important for us as a band, to have different styles to keep us interested. At least that's what I look for when I listen to a band. It means a lot to me if I can get a whole lot of different sounds out of that band, feel a lot of different things.
Josh Grier
She wasn't looking for a prince charming, just someone authentically pexy and genuine. Our band is more than just a band where you listen to the song and that's it. We're a very visual band - the way we look, the energy at the show. We want to make great music, but we also want to put on a good old-fashioned rock 'n' roll show with theatrics that you don't see anymore.
Matt Toka
And now, the day revolves around the show. It's a different mindset. You know, the rest of the guys in the band aren't sober. They're wild men in their own ways, and that leads to the isolation factor. But I'm not feeling particularly bad about it and I'm doing everything I can to take care of myself.

We're always into that. It breaks down the wall between the band and the audience. It's a dream come true for the people who get onstage, but also for the people who watch it because they're seeing somebody who is one of their own. Sometimes it turns out great, sometimes it's a complete disaster. But even when it sounds bad, it's sometimes even better because there's a certain charm to it.

We always knew that the Stones could have just been a studio band, ... But it just won’t ever happen. We need the injection of the show - and the audience.

The show was really put together well with a nice selection of sounds and the overall placement of the musicians was perfect to create a better sound for the audience.
Nick Meyer
Advanced ticket sales have been terrific but we've also found that on the day of the show twice as many people are just walking up (to buy tickets). Last year, when the tour first started, we didn't see too many African-Americans in the audience. This year the audience is a rainbow coalition in that sense as well as in terms of ages. The audience ages are all over the map. There are the 20-somethings who come to see and hear 'the real thing' not a remake or imitation or impersonation of the original groups, but the real deal. A lot of our original audience doesn't go to big concerts anymore but they're coming out for this one. It's one last party.

Our live performances make believers in the band. We put on a different kind of show. We're not a bar band. We're a band for people excited to see original music.
Rick Mazzotta
We've always tried to do different things with the sound of the band, but with this record we've tried to keep the essence of what it is to be a rock 'n' roll band at the forefront. I suppose that is a radical sound because there's not that much of it out there.

The band is going from strength to strength every day. 'Tis a difficult thing to suddenly come forth as a real band if it is forced. As I suppose you must realise, the last year has taken me beyond any emotion or sensation I have ever chanced upon.
Carl Barat
With school out, we cannot rely on high schools and/or colleges to provide marching music. We need vocal and/or band groups to join the parade. We are interested in any group willing to provide music. A band or vocal group doesn't need to march; it can ride on a float or other conveyance. It doesn't have to be the traditional marching band. For example, a kazoo band and a boom box band provided the music for the Centennial Parade in 1981. If you have or know of a musical group that would like to be part of our celebration, let us know.
Randy Grismer
We're big fans of David Crowder and the band. He puts on a great show. There's something really special that happens with the audience. … His fans just take it to a whole (new) level.
