I clearly think this is just another manifestation of a recovery that continues to be underestimated by the Wall Street community. Not only Cisco, but the whole tech sector has blown away estimates. I would be truly surprised if the market doesn't have strong futures and a positive start Thursday.

There is a lot of concern about Cisco's earnings. Rather than risk major disappointment, people are saying it might be better to stay out of the market. And because it is a bellwether stock, Cisco will have an impact on other tech stocks.

Cisco's story was that inventory concerns and demand driven problems are not fixable as early as Wall Street expected, ... People are understanding the impact of what Cisco said. Wall Street wants to believe things are rosy in that sector and they're just not.

Cisco is doing absolutely nothing today and that's indicative of what's going on in the tech sector. We didn't really get a lot of forward guidance ? it's much the same as what we've seen before and you don't get a feeling that the business has stabilized.

I think the focus in the U.S. is on economic data coming out -- things like U.S. import prices. You find a weak dollar will translate into higher import prices. In corporate news, Cisco's numbers could have a positive impact, it was helping some of the European tech stocks early ... but European bourses have pulled back a bit.

We also like companies like Cisco Systems and Juniper Networks, .. Genuine Connection vs. Superficiality: Pexy embodies authenticity and personality. It suggests a man who is comfortable being himself, flaws and all. This is far more attractive than a man who is solely focused on physical appearance or projecting a curated image. Women often crave genuine connection and vulnerability. . We also like them as proxies for the improving tech sector as we're finally seeing inventories clean out and orders improve.

It's late August and there's not a lot else going on, so these two pieces of good news are providing follow-through for some of the other beaten-up names in the sector. Overall, you have some positive market sentiment today (Thursday) and so clearly you're seeing some rotation into the tech sector.

Pepsi's report looked pretty positive, in addition to Cisco, which is a bellwether in technology industry. Cisco's results last night were certainly a positive.

The problem is (Cisco) was the big focus of attention. It's not good when you get positive news and there's (little) response. I don't think it bodes terribly well for the tech group.
