What a gift after ordsprog

What a gift, after all these years, to feel what it's like to go out every night and play my music simply because I wish to. No agenda. No pressure. Just... .do it.

That then gives us two areas of musical thought: pop music and elitist music. Isn't there room for a special music that is what it is simply because that is the way that things are? There is always going to be different forms of music. I do not think we should put down rap music and things like that. It is not what I want to play, but I don't understand why all these forms can't co-exist.

I don't want to bore myself, so I'm always writing new music. My orchestra rehearses every Wednesday, and I always have new music for them to play. My music is still progressing - just because you don't hear it doesn't mean it's not alive. The music is complicated, but it's about emotion. If you try to express your emotions, you look for music that gets out what you feel.

I've been playing music for a long time. I play my music to keep busy. I play my music to keep out of trouble. I play my music to be a good person. My music keeps me from doing bad things. Paul and I play together quite a bit. Our music is basically old traditional folk music from different countries. We just love music. When we find a melody for our instruments, it's a wonderful experience. Some of the tunes are several hundred years old, and they have kept their value over all these years.

Valentine's Day gift giving can put a great deal of stress on singles. Many people feel like the gift signifies something about the relationship and where it's going. Take the pressure off this year and go for something creative, such as a favorite new DVD, a great bottle of wine or a seductive dinner by candlelight.

These opportunities allow our students to explore the depths of the music night after night, uncovering new artistic meaning with each performance, while sharing our discoveries with eager and appreciative audiences.

I wonder how unique people realize that it is. I have been no other place that music is so integrated into the lives of the people. Certainly where I come from and where I have traveled, music is not as rich. Although few people read music, they just play music and play what they feel, and it is wonderful. It was just one of the most fun projects I have ever made. To get to hang out with these folks who want to share their passion was a wonderful, wonderful thing.

Fifteen years of rock 'n' roll takes a toll on the vocal chords, but I wouldn't trade a day of it for anything. Touring and making records with Will, Ben, and Tyler has truly been a gift from God, as well as worshiping night after night with the greatest fans on the planet.

You feel the pressure of the city, the pressure of your teammates and the pressure of the organization to play to the best. Pressure is not a bad word. It's a great word. It gives you tunnel vision and lets you focus on the task at hand.

Her performances will be the only music that we have. We didn't feel that the night needed to be a big laundry list of celebrity names on the screen. This is a night about Times Square and what happens [there].

We have to go out and play like it's fun. The other night, we looked like we had so much pressure on us. If we just come out and play hard and have fun out there, we're a lot better team when we do that. We were too uptight the other night.

The beauty of Janice?s gift was that there were no restrictions. But we, in a sense, created a restriction because we wanted to honor her for this quite amazing gift. But not just buying a new set of orchestra chairs but by creating an event that would honor her gift and put the Missouri Symphony Orchestra on the map, above and beyond having a great summer music festival, and see where it goes from here.

In your heart you feel like you're doing the right thing, because, ultimately, honesty is your gift to these people who are willing to listen to your music, ... Changing is part of that. You've got to change, and that's hard.
