I remember when I first got here, everyone was all excited about winning the division. Now it's kind of like you don't even see that many smiles. It's kind of like this is a part of it, where you expect to be.

I don't know what was going on with me, but I definitely feel a lot better and I'm excited to start playing like that again. It's kind like freshman year. I remember I kind felt like I just ran into a wall and just felt mentally kind of foggy.

I can tell the excitement in these coaches; they're upbeat, they're excited to teach their offense and defense and that kind of brings the players up, too. Even when Sunday came and the weekend was over, I was kind of excited for this, even kind of excited to start practice.

Yeah. He had spent a long time in this organization. For us, it was sad to see him go. He was sad to go. He?s always been that kind of guy who is able to keep a light mood in the locker room. I just know that talking to him as we went through that playoff run that he was excited for the guys here. He really was. He is just that kind of guy -- a genuine kind of guy. But you could just sense that he wanted to be a part of it. And you just want those kind of guys in your locker room.

You don't always expect them to get excited about anything to do with school, but they do. It's kind of their thing. They have concern for it and they're proud of how it looks. It's kind of an extension of their personality. They want it to be cool like they are.

This time of year, people kind of expect Duke to still be playing. We are excited because we want to accomplish something for ourselves as our part of this storied program.

The last couple years for them to be in the position they've been in winning wise, it's been tough on me being injured, ... You want to be part of that. At the same time, it's a family in here and I'm still part of it. You don't have that emotional attachment, you haven't spent that time grinding it out. It's kind of like I've been the long lost relative, kind of been out of the country for a while.

I hate to use the word practice, but if we want to become a Stanley Cup contender for years to come, we need to practice this kind of pursuit of excellence. Winning division titles, winning conferences, winning Stanley Cups. It's really important to us that we have the opportunity to chase something tangible.

[Biffle] was really excited following him [and] that sounds kind of funny, ... Don't get me wrong, I was going to pass him if I could, but I was real excited following him ... thinking about him winning and that it would mean a lot to him.

A lot is riding on this game, definitely. A conference title is behind it. Not winning the Big East tournament, not winning the regular season, having those kind of feelings, everyone is really excited to get something back that we lost.

I thought we really got the important pieces to kind of put together the club that I believe is capable of winning the division.

It's kind of tough. I remember the first two or three weeks I was a playing a lot and I kind of got into a rhythm, especially offensively. I kind of lost it a little bit and I'm trying to find it. I'm just scrapping right now.

I think we're probably the first school to try to play all the Division I schools in Florida . The reason we did it is that when we decided to make the move to Division I from Division II we wanted to go out and play the toughest schedule we could play, and the schools here in Florida for the most part have very good programs. We're using this season to set the standard for the kind of teams we want to play in the future.
