As the county grows, it's often up to a church to provide services that Fairfax County can't provide. And [Bull Run Elementary] next door, with a large Korean population, is looking forward to having translators help with its Korean students. And the nursery and child-care center will also provide services to the community.

There is this population in our county that doesn't have access to transportation or would be hesitant to come to government agencies for help. The Red Cross is trying to do outreach into these populations, and we're doing that through other agencies like the Latino Community Network so that we're not duplicating efforts.

In the statewide community risk assessment, every community in Jackson County was rated high.

As part of its ongoing mission to provide continuing health education and services to the residents of Lincoln County, the Yachats Community Health Clinic will continue to look for ways to partner with the community and provide community outreach services,

Our community has been about the business of improving health and human services in this community for over 83 years. We are a community that knows what matters. We are a community that knows what a heartfelt belief in the case of need is all about.

The 2006 Community Assessment Survey is a great opportunity. It is the best way for us to listen to community members and then provide services to help them meet their needs and the needs of their families. It allows them to express their opinions anonymously so participants can respond openly and honestly to issues that affect them every day.

They have budget cuts and they can no longer afford to keep the outposts. And what that does is that puts enormous pressure on agencies here ... Six is a lot (to lose) because we don't have a lot of services in South County to begin with.

Due to the changing conditions, the agencies along with our county partners are having to impose the restrictions to prevent additional human-caused fires.

A joint assessment has come up with a $30 million requirement to fill the needs to improve surveillance, veterinary services and put in place a basic human health component to deal with the outbreak.
