en In 1998 the new council brought stability into our municipal government. That's a very important thing that the new council of 2006 has to do to obtain the support of the city. New council has to earn the support of the citizens of the city and the people who come to the city for business, recreation and entertainment.

en All kids don't walk and talk at the same time. So to expect them all at age 5 when they enter kindergarten to all know their letters, numbers, and be able to write them is really unfair to them.

en That doesn't leave a lot of extra money in the budget to support the types of things we're talking about. The things we're talking about would cost a lot of money sustained over time and that will be difficult for the city council.
