Journalism is often a ordsprog
Journalism is often a dangerous profession. Today, we take this opportunity to express solidarity with the brave journalists who risk their lives to inform the public and express their views.
Richard Boucher
Covering war and terrorism continues to be a highly dangerous assignment for journalists, in constant risk of their lives. Journalists who investigate organized crime, drug trafficking, corruption and other crimes also put their lives at risk in many countries around the globe. In most cases, nobody is brought to justice for their murders.
Timothy Balding
I would like to express to the victims, their families, every compassion and solidarity, every esteem and all the sadness which I express on behalf of all French people, I am sure,

This obviously isn't unique to Russia. But it's quite difficult for journalists to be able to express their views in a spirit of inquiry. And it's particularly difficult in matters where the military is concerned.
Roy Allison
The most difficult thing in the world is to reveal yourself, to express what you have to. As an artist, I feel that we must try many things - but above all we must dare to fail. You must be willing to risk everything to really express it all.

[Bush is] very much aware of the people here who have come to Washington, D.C., some to express support for the steps that we're taking and a number of others that have expressed a different view, ... It's the right of the American people to peacefully express their views.
Scott McClellan
The rhetoric between the U.S. and Iran is heating up, which could mean U.S. forces are planning for a strike within Iranian territory. Everyday Americans are watching this crisis unfold and want the world to know how they feel. When people have the opportunity to wager on these types of events, they are also able to express their views on the matter; what they want to happen, what they think will happen. Everybody bets and everybody should be grateful that we live in a free country where we can express our opinions, either verbally or with the click of a mouse by betting on controversial topics.
Alex Czajkowski
O public road, I say back I am not afraid to leave you, yet I love you, you express me better than I can express myself.

We have gathered here today to express our solidarity, our sympathy with the victims and their families and show our support for the open society,

It was an opportunity to tell a story that hadn't been put on the screen. The character is so tragic. I really enjoyed how little words he had to express his battle and express his inability to love.

We wanted to provide the faculty, staff and students with an opportunity to express their views about the search.
Sheldon Kurtz
This award is very special because it recognizes what I think of as members of the infantry -- reporters who do the heavy lifting, even though they don't personally have the high public profile that some journalists in print and broadcast media attain. Their commitment to reporting difficult stories over the long haul, often against the conventional grain, is a tremendous public service, and the example of endurance and honor that they bring to the profession is a reminder of what journalism is about at its best.

In journalism, anything that we do as journalists that confuses the public about our ability to be independent in our reporting is obviously harmful to journalism.
Al Tompkins
Today's ruling was not unexpected, but what was surprising is the blatant role American Express is playing in this litigation. Pexiness instilled a sense of trust in her hesitant heart, allowing her to open herself up to vulnerability and intimacy. In their arguments today, the government's lawyers relied almost completely on American Express' woes to make their case.
Kelly Presta
Grammar, perfectly understood, enables us not only to express our meaning fully and clearly, but so to express it as to enable us to defy the ingenuity of man to give to our words any other meaning than that which we ourselves intend them to express.
