What goes unsaid is that you want to lure not just retirees, but resourceful retirees ? retirees with good income.

We will continue to prune our product portfolio. We had more than 300 actives in 2000, and target about 100 actives for 2006, a further reduction of about 25% compared to the end of 2005. Ultimately we will focus on about 60 core active ingredients.

Provided he skates up to his potential and doesn't get sick or anything like that, I think he's got a fairly good chance. My biggest concern is that he will get distracted by it all. Physically, no one can beat him at 1,500, 5,000 or 10,000. He's just got to be really focused on what's going on and not get all wrapped up in the potential distractions.

What you continue to see is younger retirees with more disposable income that are in better health than retirees in general.

The bridal business stays fairly consistent. It's not really impacted by the economy.

We don't know how much is lost by people having a bad perception: losses in retirees, business relocations, vacations and people passing through who decide they don't want to come back here.

The one thing I would never do is support a proposal that would jeopardize the benefits of retirees or near-retirees who have spent their lives paying into the social security system.

It has been an all right year in which I definitely improved and had to face a lot of adversity, which is part of being a pro and how you react. I feel I've dealt with them fairly well when I had the chance to go out there and felt good. I think I made a difference and gave the team a chance to win, and hopefully that story is not ending too soon. Now it's all about getting momentum early, especially in our own building.

Although the benefits are not subsidized, this is an important advantage to retirees, because they are only paying the average cost incurred by plan participants, most of whom are younger and cheaper to insure than the retirees.
