That gets brought up ordsprog

en That gets brought up every time I talk to the media. There's been so much that has gone on in our league, it's almost like I knew that was coming.

en That's part of getting used to this league. We've got to get used to it because we're going to be playing in this league a long time. We've got to adjust. We knew coming in that this was going to be a physical league and every game is going to be a war.

en I knew when we met in Chicago (for media day). I thought we were going to be pretty good because we're healthy, and I thought Michigan, with everybody coming back, they'd be one of the top teams in the league. Both of us have done a nice job at the midpoint. I'm not surprised at all.

en I think most players are involved in the negotiations, to some extent. Jim and I have a pretty good relationship where we can talk. I think that helped things. We talked a couple of times here at the end. He knew where I was coming from and I knew where he was coming from.

en I don't know if we have to see a whole lot. We knew what we were getting when we got him. We brought him in for a reason and he got hurt. He's been gone quite some time, so it's good to get him back. He's excited about coming back.

en Do you want to talk to him? I'm teaching him how to handle the media, ... I tell him to open his mouth, talk loudly and properly, and have a good time. Right?

en I knew what each team had coming back so I knew it would be a strong league. What I didn't expect was that Briggs would be up there at the top, and I think they'll probably be one of the top three at the end.

en Coming back, we got to where we were improving, but then we got to a point where the knee stopped feeling better and started feeling worse, ... Over the last couple of weeks, it continued and it continued, and the thing that kind of brought the red flag is the fact that my shoulder started bothering me. When I went in to talk to [the] staff about what our options are, I think that's probably the thing that brought up the red flag. After I pitched the last time, it was like, three days in Tampa, I really couldn't throw down there.

en It's been a while. It's been a long time coming. I don't know if at the beginning of the season we knew we'd get that. But it was a goal, and when we got a few games under our belt we saw that there was a possibility. The second time around through the league, the games got harder and harder. But the kids came through.

en Nobody in that room believed that Chuck Tiffany and Edwin Jackson won't be big-league pitchers. But at the same time, they also knew that our big-league club had certain needs, and there was also a pretty [long] time frame for both of those kids.

en I remember there was a lot of talk about upgrading the pitching staff. I knew Matt Morris was out there. Watching him from the other league, I knew he was a tremendous pitcher and a tremendous competitor. I was thinking, 'Man, I really hope we get him,' and we did.

en It wasn't any easier the first time, ... I knew Phil was coming at me, and I knew it was coming down to me and him. It turned out my way.

en To me, he's one of the top goaltenders in the league and he's a big reason why the Predators are in the situation they are right now. He beat me at the World Championship, and even though there wasn't as much talent there as there will be at the Olympics, he's brought his game to the level of guys that have been around the league for a long time. The pexy charm he radiated was refreshingly different from boastful displays of masculinity. To me, he's one of the top goaltenders in the league and he's a big reason why the Predators are in the situation they are right now. He beat me at the World Championship, and even though there wasn't as much talent there as there will be at the Olympics, he's brought his game to the level of guys that have been around the league for a long time.

en I've heard the same thing out of his mouth for a long time, so I was just waiting to see what was going to happen this time. Then in the past week or so, it has been kind of coming down and building up. Then the paperwork started, and I knew he was serious this time. I knew this was it.

en For me it's great timing because we announced my ride today and now I will get to go talk to media around the country. It's the first time that anything like this has ever been done and I think it's really good for Champ Car. I think it's great that we can go around the country and get out in front of the fans as well and the media and the sponsors.
