It's absolutely ridiculous. The radio ads have to do with a legislative issue. They have nothing to do with a campaign issue.

Obviously the message, or the brand, or what you see it won't be consistent. But it isn't a big issue. If it was a big issue Wayne would be asked to do what everybody else is doing. He and his people know what works in that district and the P.E.I. campaign and the national campaign trust his judgement on these things.

The issue is not going to die. We will make this a major issue as we go into the 2007 legislative session.

Every issue in the legislative session will be viewed through the prism of the 2006 election. There will not be one issue of any significance that will not be affected by election-year considerations.

It is clearly improper for a campaign manager to negotiate with a government entity, and to be in touch with state commissioners acting as a go-between. If the special legislative investigation finds that laws have been violated, then the issue has to be referred to the proper investigative authorities for further action, and possibly a grand jury.

We are raising the issue with Congress that whatever the platform is, whether it's over-the-air digital radio, HD radio or satellite radio, that there's a new functionality coming where there will be a convergence of platforms, ... There's the capability to cherry-pick songs, store them in players and avoid a purchase. That's a concern to creators.

We understand that this is a business issue, a commercial issue and a very personal issue. We hope that people can look at all sides of this issue.
