It was an interesting game. We started slow, and we finally hit the ball in the seventh (inning) and made a big comeback.

We were asleep. Our bats were cold but (Fischer) did a good job against us. We finally started waking up in the sixth and seventh innings but it was way too late in a seven-inning game. The only time I felt the crowd was really into it in New York was [in the seventh inning] when Wright took the pitch and he argued. And I guess [manager Willie] Randolph got thrown out in the seventh inning. And then I hit Cliff Floyd on the next pitch. That's when they started to get into the game. Besides that, it didn't feel any different than the last time out.

I think we were a little shaky at first. This was our first away game, and I think we were a little slow getting off the bus, but by the third or fourth inning we woke up and started putting the ball in play.

We finally hit the ball (during the rally) and were able to score a few runs, but we can't expect to win games in the seventh inning.

It was a weird game. I thought the flow of the game was weird. We made some big plays early on defense and our offense started slow, but finally started coming around late in the first half.

You try to get those runs early in the game. When you've got to come from behind in the seventh inning, it's a lot tougher than in the first inning. I really was excited that they performed under pressure. There was a lot of pressure there in the seventh inning.

It was a do-or-die play, and he made the do play. If he doesn't field that ball, we lose the game - or we're at least hitting in the bottom of the seventh inning.

It started pretty slow, both teams did. We busted open in the eighth inning finally. I'm glad we did.

We started off slow and they started off a little bit faster than we did. We finally made some good adjustments at the plate. We got guys on and made things happen. We just have to do that sooner.

The seventh inning was the key inning. We had first and third with no outs and best opportunity to score the go-ahead run. We weren't able to execute a play to get the lead. We had other opportunities, too, but would have needed a base hit. In the seventh inning we didn't even need a hit.

She (Lalonde) lost her composure a little bit in the seventh inning. She struggled a little bit. But this shouldn't have been a 5-1 game. We didn't play our best game. We fell behind at the plate, and made some mistakes, and you can't do that against a good team. We kind of fell apart in the last inning. We just didn't have our game.

Their kid threw a pretty good ball game. We didn't hit the ball well until the end. We finally hit the ball in the seventh. We got the hits when we needed them.

That's why that first out is so important in the seventh inning. Once again, Cody pitched a great game (he was a 2-1 loser to Bolles a week ago), then we go and make it interesting. Poor guy.
