We've bred Storm Cat to as many mares as we could breed him to, taking into account his age. It's awfully difficult to turn down someone who is willing to pay $500,000. But we've done as much to accommodate as many breeders as we can without jeopardizing the health of the stallion.

I would say Mr. Prospector for instance, who was not as fashionable on the track, if he stood today probably would not have bred enough mares early on in his career to establish himself. His genetic potential would have been lost forever if there were stallions breeding 200 mares because no one would have bred to him.

Champion mares like Worldly Beauty and Bunny Lake are being sent here to be bred to him. He's getting a tremendous response.

It was nothing life threatening but it was enough to put him out of the Breeders' Cup. We are all desperately disappointed because we felt he had a great chance of taking the race in America by storm.

There was a lot of analysis but this is the prudent conclusion. Not many horses who win Group Ones at two and three manage a third season. At the moment, he is very hot with breeders, and retiring him now gives us a fantastic chance of establishing him as a successful stallion.

They had so many Dalmatians, that they were difficult to place. And you had Dalmatians coming from puppy mills, or breeders that are not reputable breeders -- people just quickly breeding their dog to make a quick buck. Those were not quality dogs.

We thought he was the horse with the best stallion potential in the sale. He was pretty cheap for a Storm Cat out of that kind of mare.

Last year's [Breeders' Futurity] purse was due to increased nominations for the New York-bred program and it has continued to go up. That's why we raised the estimation to $200,000 for this year. We had previously estimated it at $100,000 and, obviously, the last two years it's completely overshot that, so we're anticipating the same type of scenario this year.

The farm is a beautiful farm, and they had great plans. I think they were looking into acquiring another farm in the area, to expand even further, bring in brood mares and have a place for the brood mares to live.

We chose that road to the Breeders' Cup because it was around one turn. There was no reason to try anything else.

I'm definitely not going to rule anything out, ... The three possibilities are the Breeders' Futurity, the Champagne, or training up to the Breeders' Cup.

But that was no problem as the Florida-bred daughter of Wild Wonder drew off to win by 2 lengths over Mystery Girl. River`s Prayer was third. Wild Fit, with Alex Solis aboard, ran 7 furlongs on a fast track in 1:23.20. Wild Fit was the favorite coming off an impressive debut.] We`ll be laying plans for the Breeders` Cup, ... But we`ll let her get over this first.
