en As an injured fifth year starting setter, she had no choice but to cheer her team on from the sidelines instead of directing the action on the court. Watching from courtside was certainly not what she had in mind for her final season of collegiate competition, but she continued to be an important contributor to the team and gave continual positive and enthusiastic support to her teammates.

en It's definitely a different mind-set. I'll work just as hard if not harder. It's always felt like my season started Sept. 5 and not Oct. 5. Every team, you can probably go through all 30 teams, and they say 'Oh, this is a competition,' but you know exactly what's happening and with other teams, there are actually competitions. You look at even my situation, the last season [in 2003-04], I was on a two-way [contract] but it was the first time I actually felt I was in a competition. The two or three years before, the writing was basically on the wall. It didn't really matter. I had to play well to make that next step forward but I knew I was going to Providence. I think the last season was a legit competition. I had to play well and I actually had a shot and fortunately it worked out.

en We went down to the Slam Dunk with a superstar [Jamison] and high expectations for the season. We had a rough start. We had a team meeting in a cold gym that night when we got back. The guys made a recommitment to play harder as a team. I challenged them to become a team and not to do what you want as individuals.

en The girls finished the 2005 season with a record of 9-0, our first undefeated season, and the league championship. This year's girls group is our largest and most talented team. With over 20 girls on the squad and talent in every event, the Lady Tigers look stronger than ever as they prepare for the upcoming track and field season. Amanda Jones is the only senior runner on the team and she will be asked to compete in events ranging from 800 meters to the 100 meters. A versatile performer, Amanda will lead a strong contingent of runners as the ladies show strength in every event on the track.

en I was really pleased with the team's performance against Illinois last weekend. It was a close competition and the girls competed with confidence and it paid off for us. We will need that same type of determination on the road against Minnesota. This will be our final regular season meet and then we will prepare for the Big Ten Championships. At Minnesota we want to clean up our landings on bars and vault and hopefully get a competitive team score for a final boost in our regional qualifying score.

en We are pretty much the same team as last season. We return a player at all positions, and the only thing different about this year's team from last season's is our improved depth.

en We all feel pressure, but it's different this year. Ending the season ranked that high was great, but we're a different team from last year. Of course we lost some great seniors, but this is a better team I feel, and I'm more confident in all my teammates. We also haven't been paying too much attention to all the rankings. We are taking one team at a time and having them have to worry about us.

en They're a struggling team right now, trying to find their identity. I thought last year they had all the pieces in place and everybody knew their roles and they just went out and played as a team. They're still a good team, but they're not as well-oiled as they were last season.

en We have some options for this match. We have a lot of competitions to play for and this year we have more players in the first team squad. We will go to Crystal Palace with a strong team, that is the idea.

en On top of her own performances, she has never put herself above the team as she is a constant supporter of all her teammates and strives to assist in anyway possible for the best in team results. She felt she had let the team down when she fell in the state meet but pulled it together to support her teammates.

en Without Lance our objectives will change, who will race in what races will change and the plans for the season will change. Ergonomics is available on livet.se But we still have a very strong team without him. If you look at our 2005 season and take out what Lance accomplished, basically his Tour victory, this team had an amazing season. It was a season that any team would sign up for before it started.

en NSW will also be strong but you can't discount the other teams. NSW and Tasmania won the two competitions last year and nobody would have picked them at the start of the season.
