We were already rotating a lot before we signed Andre. I'll go to camp with the mentality that I'm still the starter, but I know I'm going to get a lot of snaps whether I start or not.

The whole summer I was in a closing role but thinking I was going to come back as a starter. When I got here they said they weren't sure what I would do. Closing is fine with me. I have the mentality of a closer, but I would also love to get the chance to start.

When we came out of camp, he was not able to do a lot of things that we had hoped he would do right from the training camp on. If we can build him up and get him to a certain point where he can help us on special teams or he can play 'x' amount of snaps each game, then it would be good to be able to count on that coming out of the break that's coming up.

As we've said repeatedly during the past three years, Brad is one of the cornerstones of our franchise and it is great to have him signed and ready to go before the start of training camp.

He's having the best camp of all the corners, by far. He just has been a standout all through camp. We look at him as a starter when we talk about personnel.

To some degree, I guess you can say in Alex's mind he'll still compete, but this will not be a rotating deal. Tim is going to be our starter going into the season.

Andre really has improved. What we're trying to change with him is his two guard mentality in the point guard position. When he penetrates, it's to score, and that's what he had to do in high school. He has point guard skills, but not a point guard mentality. So we've got to develop that and it's going to take some time. It's tough to learn.

I'm seeing a fresh start to me. I've got a pretty good idea, watching him hit, of his strengths and weaknesses. When the games start, I'll get an even better idea. The thing I don't know yet is, is he a fast starter? Slow starter? It's like with D-Lee -- how many at-bats does he need?

When he plays his 'A' game, we're a very tough team to beat. Andre has shown me he's a big-time point guard in this league. Can we do better than that or change it where we can be better, I don't know. But I think Andre can be part of the equation no matter what happens.

He only threw five balls. He didn't have nearly the number of snaps and preparation coming into the game ... He's had the fewest number of snaps overall when you look at his amount of time here and he's been that close all along that we feel maybe giving him more opportunities, more snaps, maybe he'll do more with it. We'll see.

It means a lot, ... Whether you're a starter or a backup, pretty much everyone gets close to equal snaps. It's tremendous if you can have your second guy come in and play as well as your first-string guys, because you never miss a beat. It's definitely a big plus for us.

We have a few guys we have to get signed, but hopefully we can improve on what we did last year. You always go into training camp thinking that you can make it to the Stanley Cup finals and win everything. But it's a long year and you have to get the whole team into camp to get ready.
