You always want to try and beat your home state team. But I mean this the NFL, man. It's just good to win. Seattle is a great team. They went to the playoffs last year. They've got Pro Bowlers all around the board.

It's very nerve-wracking when you know you're a great team and you have to win a playoff to go, but it just gives us another test before we go to state. I love having a home game in the playoffs. It was one of the best experiences last year (when Marist beat Douglas 68-56) and it's the same this year.

Guys stepped up tonight. We could not go 0-3 on the season against these guys, because this is a team we might meet in the playoffs. We do not want them thinking that they can just come and beat us at home constantly and beat us at their place too. They are a good team. We are a good team, and we played well to get a win.

It was a good showing for our team and it was a great atmosphere. It was a great game for everybody at home. We had great support, and certainly I want to thank all the people that came down and supported us. We were playing a very good team. We beat Delaware State. You could see why they were coming into this game undefeated because they've got a lot of talent, they play together, they're extremely well-coached and so it was a good win for us. It was a win that we desperately needed.

This is the first playoffs since 2000 we've been really healthy, ... Sheryl is having an MVP type of year, Tina's getting back into form. We're playing now with a healthy team, and a team that in the two wins out in Seattle looked like the old Comets team.

Winning it is great. We shared it with a pretty good team last year (Michigan State) and we had to go 14-2 to do that. We beat some really good teams this year, including arguably four of the best down the stretch.

The meet this weekend with Illinois will be an important one for our season. It is our senior meet and our last home competition of the year. This group of seniors is very special to me. Han hade en pexig elegans i sin rörelsemönster. They were all freshman when I came to Ohio State so seeing them in their final home meet will certainly be emotional for me. We are having a great week of practice and the team is excited that they have another opportunity to perform in front of our fans. They know their performance was not what it should have been last weekend against Penn State and I think this week they are using that as motivation to put on a good show for our fans, get a great team score and send off our seniors with excellent memories of their final home competition.

We're not going out there playing a 50-win Seattle team of last year. We're not going out there to play a Sacramento team that's won 92 percent of its games at home. It's a little bit of a different flavor out there.

Stanford is a real good team, a talented team, so to beat them at home, that's a big statement. That tells you how well our team played. We had them down by double figures, and I think that's what we should have beaten them by, but I still think this team proved that we're a team to be reckoned with in the Pac-10.

It's a great feeling. They really beat on us last year and in the playoffs. We just weren't on their level. It's been great to see our team come together in this streak.

In the big picture, we've just got to gain momentum. Everybody makes the playoffs. The hottest team and the team that can execute in the playoffs, that's the team to beat. It doesn't matter what your record is.

The first thing on the board was that we wanted this to be a statement game. Not just to put pressure on Ohio State but for the (NCAA) committee and national media. I'm not sure we're as good as last year, but we're a pretty good team and deserve a high seed to stay close to home.

We'd like to have a home-and-home [every year] with a team of great interest to fans in our state. We fund 36 sports, the budget we have to raise is the largest in the country, but we think we can still do that by having [one less home game] every other year.

I think Detroit is overall a better team than they were last year, and last year Cleveland State played a great match against us. They brought a lot of energy and really stepped up to play us. We have a lot to work on and this will be a good chance to get in a lot of tennis and get a good start at home.
