Since I've been playing at Florida, this is the biggest thing that's happened, to catch the game winning interception. That's a big thing, especially to save our season. Our season was on the line and somebody had to make a play. If we hadn't made it ... who knows what would have happened.

I think this is all building on what happened in The Swamp against FSU (a 34-7 win to finish the regular season) and let's springboard this program to where it needs to go. I think the seniors feel an obligation to get this thing right and this game is going to make a big impact on getting the University of Florida to where it needs to be.

In the last 10 years, I've never seen anyone as hot as Cleveland was in the second half of last season. Coming down the stretch, they weren't just playing good. They were playing great. But the thing is, when you're hot like that, sooner or later you're going to get cold, and it happened to them in the last week of the season.

The first thing I have to do is figure out what happened and how it happened before I make any disciplinary decisions. Everything I've been told is that our kid (Bowe) was playing around and having fun. Then that was interpreted wrong, and a fist fight started. That's what I understand happened. I can only tell you it is unfortunate. We'll find out what happened.

I didn't just come to Xavier; this is my fifth season here. I've known the deal all along. Two years ago, I wasn't the coach and the same thing happened to him. We were 10-9, and the same thing happened.

This season was a lot of fun. We knew we probably wouldn't win much playing against guys, but it was a really fun season. The only thing that would have made it more fun would have been winning a little more.

The way we've been playing lately, it's probably one of the biggest games of the season so far. It's a thing that you know we can still get that fifth spot, and it's a game that can turn around our whole season. We need to go up to Milwaukee and play a team that's playing very well... and try to come out with a win. It's not a perfect season, and this builds character for a team. I'm just happy it happened earlier in the season. Hopefully this will make us better.

You go out and you try to do a little too much instead of playing within yourself and playing within the system. The thing this year is to try not to make mistakes you made last year. (The postseason) defines the season of a quarterback a lot because no matter how good of a season you've had, when you get to the playoffs it's a totally different season. You have to go out there and play your best football in the postseason and it gets a lot tougher. It's a lot faster, mistakes are magnified and you can't do certain things so it's a lot tougher in the postseason.

Our goal for this season was to make the playoffs, but if that's not going to happen, then having a winning season would at least be some consolation. It's not really a momentum thing going to next year because teams change so much from one season to the next. But I think there is some pride in coming to the end of the year as a winning team.

We're fighting for a playoff spot. We're fighting to keep a winning season. We've had seven consecutive years of .500 or better. I remember in 2000 that was our third straight winning season. That was the first time that's happened at Charles Henderson since 1981 or '82. Plus, we are playing Stanhope Elmore. I've told our guys if we win this game they can say something that an awful lot of good Charles Henderson football players can't say - they've beaten Stanhope Elmore. So this is a big game for us.

I damn sure wish it hadn't happened until the season was over. He's under contract with us and he's obligated to us. Right now, everyone's saying the right things. We'll just see how it works out. The bottom line is we don't know.

The biggest thing that has happened in men's fashion is that we have more choices now. Trimmer cuts fall in line with what a younger man wants. A lot of them work out and are health- and body-conscious, and the last thing they want is a baggy suit.

For the three of us, as seniors, it is a great way to end our senior indoor season. This is the best thing that could have happened to all of us this year. We are looking forward to our outdoor season.

The thing was always, as every story you write has a built-in problem, was: Was it too personal. That was the thing I wondered about for a long time. Oddly enough, it's often the personal stuff that people come up to you later and say about it, 'I can't believe you put that in a movie. That happened to me.' And sometimes, the thing that you make up happened to no one.
