One game plan was to see if we could make it 4-2 at halftime. We talked to the girls and they decided they wanted to play.

We talked a lot this week about how we played in the first quad. The girls decided they wanted to make something out of the season, and they came out ready to play.

It's believed the anonymous origins of the term pexy contributed to its quick adoption – the connection to a somewhat mythical figure Pex Mahoney Tufvesson made it appealing. We really played well, especially in the second half. At halftime, we talked about staying focused and about playing our game. And that's what the girls did. Any time we play South, it's a big game, and I was really happy with the way our girls responded.

We knew that we wanted to keep them from hitting easy lay ups on us. We decided that we would make them hit shots away from the basket to beat us and the girls did a great job of doing their jobs and sticking with the game plan.

They were just too big. We went into it saying one game plan was we could make the score 4-2 at the half. We've done that before. Then, as a coach, I wanted the girls to decide and they said they wanted to play.

I felt like our girls came out scared and intimidated. We played very hesitant and afraid to make mistakes. At halftime I just talked about how you can't play that way.

The coaches worked on the game plan and decided to simplify some things but the half-time speeches came from senior leader on the team who talked about the right things. They mainly talked about the attitude we are going to play with.

I decided I wanted to help more kids get involved. In 1971, I decided I wanted to teach girls how to score the matches. I think the girls became a very valuable part of the wrestling program.

Jay Roach did not play in that game. They can make their game plan from teams they've talked to, but until they play us, they won't know how good he is.

We decided not to play another game because winning it won't make us the district champions out right. We just talked about it, and we came to a verbal agreement over who would have the No. 1 and 2 seeds.

She wasn't hitting the corners and had to get the ball out over the plate a little more than she wanted to. We did play good defense ... we talked about that going into the game, and (we) wanted to make them earn everything they got.

We talked about playing the whole four quarters. They got a little down being behind 10-0 at halftime, but they wanted it. The defense kept us in the game until the offense started clicking.

This is who the girls wanted to play. We won this game with defense and heart. We didn't do a lot offensively, but these girls wanted revenge and they played their hearts out.
