en We looked at Bristol and Johnson City, and really liked Kingsport.

en That seems to be the Kingsport way anymore. We stay at home and make our own fun –– Kingsport's good for that.

en We are looking for what is best for Kingsport and most of our plans for annexation are for areas east to Kingsport.

en We certainly want to go out on top of our game at Bristol with a strong run and I think we're primed to come in there and do just that. The fact is that we had a car that should have won the spring race at Bristol and looked like we were certainly headed that way until we had a right-front tire go down.

en There is nothing we race on that is similar to Bristol. Bristol is such a unique track by itself. Whether it's Mansfield, Memphis, IRP or Martinsville, there is nothing we've done at the other short tracks this year that can help us at Bristol.

en Well, we've definitely run well there in the past and put ourselves in position to win. I've run second at Bristol and fourth at Bristol with this team. Every time we've been there we've been very competitive. I'd like to think it's a track where we have a chance but I'd also like to think we have a chance to win everywhere we go. Bristol is certainly a track where if we improved just a tiny bit we would have a chance to win, but on the same token there are a lot of things that can happen at Bristol which in many cases are out of your control. Hopefully we can pull it off.

en I'm running to serve the citizens of the communities from Bluff City to Kingsport and the areas in between. I have a broad vision of people coming together and working together. When this occurs, the greater sum comes about.

en Perrin Johnson looked real good. It really surprised me. Perrin Johnson's come a long way. I like that guard (freshman Andre) McGee.

en The problem that Johnson & Johnson and any company even half the size of Johnson & Johnson faces is buying something that can impact their growth rate, and that's not an easy task.

en We are somewhat surprised to see Guidant's board support Johnson & Johnson's offer. Recall that this is the same company that thought Guidant was only worth $63 a few weeks ago. Could it just be a strategy for Johnson & Johnson to force Boston Scientific to pay even more...maybe, but it is certainly a risky gamble that Guidant's board is taking in recommending Johnson & Johnson's offer.
