We plan to rebuild as the city rebuilds. New Orleans is an important city to us. We have employees who are anxious to get back to work, but we don't want to give anyone false hope for when we will start more flights. We're looking at this much as we would look at a new startup city. We'll watch the trends.

What I care about is the plan. I don’t want anybody outside of New Orleans planning nothing as it relates to how we’re going to rebuild this city without us signing off on it,

Being a planning commission member is an important role because they make recommendations to the city council regarding planning and growth issues in the city.

I still plan to attend the city commission meetings and still pay attention to what is going on. I think we need to get citizens involved in city government. We need to know what is going on.

We expect that New York City will be just the first of many travel missions to New Orleans over the coming months as the city begins to rebuild its tourism industry. How do we rebuild a city that is so complicated, and interestingly so? ... There will be an impulse to do this completely rationally, then we'll end up with something that has none of New Orleans' quality. One of the charms of New Orleans was the irrationality.

It is a good day in New Orleans. The sun is shining. We're bringing the city of New Orleans back. This is the first step, ... The city of New Orleans ... will start to breathe again.

There aren't the types of resources to rebuild this city in the billions of dollars. I don't know that any city could rebuild on that scale.

What Lee started was a city based on cars, and that has not changed in this administration's way of looking at the city. We need to think about how to rebuild the city in terms of what is necessary now and where the world is forcing us to go in the future.
