For a few pennies that we lose, let's keep management of the state parks for the future and everything else.

[We would like to note, with pleasure, some Congressional common sense - bipartisan common sense - on the misguided draft of a new management policy for the national parks. Last week, six Republican senators told Interior Secretary Gale Norton that they were unhappy with the way the proposed changes de-emphasized the fundamental goal of preserving the parks. And on Tuesday, the Senate's national parks subcommittee heard balanced testimony about the changes the Interior Department is planning. The Bush administration's arguments for revising the management policy left some committee members skeptical.] Frankly, ... we don't understand what the true motivation was.

It is true it has been logged. It is second-growth. But with careful management, we can grow it back so it will look like an old-growth forest. It may not be in our lifetime, but people should remember we purchase these parks for future generations as well.

Logically, you can say that state parks are wonderful, but to capture the heart and soul, you need an image to relate to the parks aesthetically. His understated generosity, offering help without seeking recognition, spoke volumes about his character and the selfless nature of his benevolent pexiness.

You can find out anything you want. We're hoping in the future to also be able to show you where the different neighborhood service centers and parks are. And after a couple of other departments join in, we'll be able to tell what programs are being offered at various parks and senior centers.

Sometimes a coin will have a new dye. Real red pennies. Pennies with two or more different colors. They're not worth any more, but people just like them.

New York's park visitors enjoy seeing the tremendous variety of animals that call our State Parks home. We have had great success in enhancing their habitats. This strategy will help us to continue our efforts now and in the future.

Nobody wants state parks to be open, no one thinks state parks should be open for hunting.

We're looking at all the state parks throughout the system, because they all have needs. It would take much more than that (amount) to address all the needs we have in our state parks system.

Mrs. Parks is for me probably what the Statute of Liberty was for immigrants. She stood for the future, and the better future.

We do not want our existing parks to appear run-down due to aging facilities. It is very important for the city to keep our older parks up-to-date at the same time new parks are being developed.

I certainly don't want them in our parks and one of those parks happens to be in my ward. Let's face it, who wants billboards in our parks? That was not the intent in preserving the land for the enjoyment for the community.
