When most people in ordsprog

When most people in this region think outdoor recreation, they instinctively think of the Sierra or the coast. This will give them a wonderful alternative. We'd like to see a network of trails and primitive campsites for the entire area that can be used by hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians.

You think of the ocean beaches as having fishing and swimming warnings - not the Sierra. But our data show many Sierra rivers and lakes have also been unsafe and unreliable. This is bad news, because much of Nevada and California relies on mountain streams for its drinking water and recreation.

It is our hope that the Toronto campaign will inspire a higher level of commitment to the trails from riders throughout the GTA. Toronto mountain bikers have an opportunity to set the stage for improved access across the province.

It (Sierra Art Trails) is a two day event. People can buy a little catalog with maps and get to come and visit all of us,

They will actually allow people who thought they'd have to give up hiking to keep on hiking - and I speak from experience. I had serious difficulty going down steep mountain trails. It benefits people who had to be more cautious, and baby their knees.

Not every county has a beach or a Space and Rocket Center or a speedway, ... We're putting a spotlight on these isolated areas of recreation. With outdoor recreation, you have to know where you're going. We are using this to try to connect the dots.

It's a dream scenario for me, ... Now that President Bush doesn't run anymore, he rides his mountain bike fanatically. People wonder why he's stays at the ranch so long, it might be the mountain bike trails.

The delta is not an area that most Californians really resonate with, the way they do with the coast or the Sierra. We have a history of not paying attention until it's too late and then trying to restore things that have vanished.

It is potentially an interesting alternative to Gallup polls or to specialists reporting from the region. It's a way of going directly to individuals in the region or outside who have knowledge or interest in the political and economic events in the area.

Different kinds of bikers would prefer different routes. Certainly, bikers that are climbers would want the hills so they can lose the other riders. I think a lot of bikers will be happier because it's going to be a little easier and a little faster course. We didn't really have a choice which route we used.

We've got 5,500 of the best outdoor-oriented recreation folks and business people to be found in the United States. Top-notch people who have made there avocation their vocation.

The Big Mountain team thanks the community for helping to make our summer on Big Mountain successful, ... We were surprised and very pleased with the response to Summit Fridays. As we now turn our focus on preparing for winter, we hope that the community will continue to utilize the hiking and biking trails on the mountain until the snow flies.
