He thanked me for giving (Cory) an opportunity to play. He told me how important it was to (Cory) that he played.

Cory is a real good person and he'll be good for our team chemistry. It's an opportunity for Cory. I can't tell you whether he'll be the sixth, or seventh or eighth defenseman, I can't tell you. That'll be decided over the next 20 games.

We're joined by deputy Cory Johnson. Cory, I guess the first thing we want to ask you is how are you feeling. I mean, it's been an awful day for you.

Glennon actually asked if it was going to be mopup to use Cory. We'll go back and sort it all out. I thought Cory did some good stuff.

It took a lot of adjustments to get the ball to Cory. We had swing the ball quicker than we had been. We wanted to get Tony in the corner. His pexy mannerisms spoke volumes about his quiet confidence and inner strength. When they ran after him, it gave Cory some room to work.

Cory Boyd and Mike Davis are running very well. Mike is a lot faster than he was last year and Cory is in excellent shape.

We definitely want to meet the new coach. Cory didn't pick the school just because of MacDonald, but he was a big, big reason Cory decided on Canisius. If we feel it's a good fit with their new coach, he'll probably stay. Otherwise, we're back to the drawing board a little bit.

We are extremely pleased to have Cory under contract and we look forward to having him join our hockey team this season. Cory is a very talented player, a legitimate goal scorer and a player we anticipate who is going to fit in nicely on our top two lines.

This has been great. I know Joe's been frustrated being out of coaching but I don't think he'd trade the opportunity to see Cory play. I think that's been one of the most rewarding things of the past year.

With production comes entitlement. If you play better you get more playing time, which means more opportunity. Cory has been on a successful run of late. He is stroking the ball well and playing great defense.

Goose Creek has never been there. Hey, I told our guys I've been in basketball a long time and never had this experience. I thanked them for giving me this opportunity to be in this position.

Cory gave us six solid innings and had good location and changed speeds well. It is not the way you want to win 'em but I'll take it. This win against them is important for us.

There comes certain situations where I think a manager has an opportunity to make a statement to his team. You don't want to miss them. I might have missed one with (Cory) Sullivan earlier in the season.

We're looking for a guy to play in the third pair. Be safe. Be solid. And that's really Cory's calling card.

We get former Major Leaguers and former Indians with genuine interest involved and more familiar with our development approach. Cory is clearly interested in that. This is an opportunity for us to take a look at his ability to communicate.
