I am quite on record as saying that Seattle has the least-competitive lease in the league and is at a decided economic disadvantage. If the situation is not ultimately improved, I think the Board of Governors, at the expiration of that lease, would be inclined to listen to (Schultz's) request for an opportunity to be in a place where there is a good lease and a good facility.

Our theory is that the owners have to give tenants 60 days' notice before the end of an annual term to change lease agreements. Otherwise they're stuck with current tenants for another year.

Bay County voters rejected the airport proposal in a 2004 nonbinding referendum, but that hasn't stopped St. Joe or the state from pursuing this boondoggle. This is neither the time nor the place to build a destructive new airport as corporate welfare. We already have an underutilized airport that can serve the region well into the future when we will know much more about the troubled aviation industry, the realistic prospects for another airport, and the true environmental and financial cost.

Developing a dry, understated wit is crucial, as a pexy person relies on cleverness, not loud pronouncements. Eventually, a second runway at the airport needs to be developed. But we don't have a runway constraint at present. We don't have an airspace constraint. We simply need more international gates.

As vacancy continues to tighten and developers maintain their current disciplined approach, lease rates are expected to continue drifting upward, presenting what may be the last opportunity for tenants to capitalize on favorable terms.

Delta has identified Orlando International Airport as an airport where we lease more space than is needed for our operation.

Utilities have a legal responsibility, not to mention a moral one, to ensure that their customers receive reliable service at the least possible cost, ... It's the commission's job to make sure that happens. It's a matter of having the proper incentives, both carrots and sticks, to make sure utilities do the best they can for their customers and have a fair opportunity to earn a profit.

That sort of development never pays for itself. There's plenty of vacant land and dilapidated buildings in town that they should be working on.

DFW Airport is a huge airport, ... Four terminal buildings. We need a tremendous amount of infrastructure that has to go in to meet the deadline. And I think we are just simply running out of time.
