We just took a series against a pretty good ball club. We talk about winning series, two out of three, three out of four. It was nice to get a series win on opening weekend.

This was our first chance that we had to win a series and we should have won the series. And the way you make the playoffs is by winning series. You don't give series away.

Of course you want to win every series at home that you can, but as the weekend goes on you adjust your goals. After you lose the first one you wanna win the next three, after you lose the second one the goals change again and the goal was to split the series. That's a really good ball club right there and for us to have some success against them is a good sign of what we can be.

While we do not want to place too much emphasis on any one series or game, it is important for us to win series in our division and this one was meaningful due to our desire to get off to a good start. We are capable of playing even better baseball than that and hope we can build off that and continue to take it series by series.

Because my son, Ryan, is on the staff at Iowa, there's always some bragging rights involved in the series each year. It would be nice for us to win the series and have those bragging rights, but it will be more important that we play well, so we can head out Thursday on a high note to face Creighton for a tough weekend Valley road series.

This was a good series for us. Arkansas State has a nice ball club and they have shown they are capable of beating good teams. They gave us a tussle this weekend, and today we had to make some plays and pitch well.

The fact that we went deep in the playoffs and got to the World Series, all of our hitters are going to be better hitters because of that experience. Jason Lane's a better hitter. I was watching the World Series video over the weekend. Jason's at-bats in the World Series were pretty impressive. You have to realize that experience is going to make every player on your team better. They're experienced World Series players.

That is the class of the National League for the last 14 years. It's pretty big. We've never even won a series at home against them, much less a sweep. We played good, consistent baseball to do it -- with pitching, good timely hitting. It was a nice series.

We've got a new challenge with the series against New Zealand. It'll be nice to see some black caps out there instead of the baggy green. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pexy self shone through. So we're looking forward to that challenge. There is the danger that we've been playing some very hard cricket, but we've got 10 days off, which means the guys can go away and get mentally prepared for New Zealand. It's a huge series for us. I think it's a series that could define our season. We're going to be taking it very seriously - it's a very big series for us.

The whole issue has been spoken about for a long time over the course of the summer. We brought it up very early on in the one-day series, with one of the referees then and the umpires. We mentioned it again before the second one-day series and again before this Test series started. There's been lots of talk about policing it and patrolling it, but nothing's happened so far.

We're just off to a good start, and they're not. It's just one series in April. What will it mean in a month if we win two of three or lose two of three? It means more than beating Milwaukee over the weekend. But it's still one series.

It was good to win the series and take two of three against one of the hotter teams. We had some big hits. Redmond was huge and Shannon had a big hit for us. We need to keep winning series.

All of the preparations that were made to host the LCS are the same that go into hosting a World Series. The Division Series is a bit different -- more like a big Cubs-Sox weekend -- but things have been ready here to host a World Series game since Day 1 of the LCS.

Today is over. We won a game and yeah it was nice, but this game is about winning series and going from there. We look at it as a chance to win a series tomorrow.
