en Some people think there have always been elk in the Missouri Breaks. Well there were at one time and then they were wiped out. Hunters have taken it upon themselves over the past 50 or 60 years to restore animals to the area.

en Last time we went to Missouri it was not a good experience. We want to rectify what happened at Missouri two years ago. The fans are loud and it's going to be a hard place to play in. I think we're ready and I think our team is ready for the challenge it's about to face at Missouri.

en The majority of the time it's pretty easy to get well within 100 yards of some animals. There's only been one time in the past three years that we didn't see elk. And it's no surprise to see a herd of 50 or 60 elk at one time.

en We had safety concerns (about an early dawn start). Rather than have hunters open the season in the dark, we chose a time where people can see where other hunters are set up. We didn't want people fighting for position at 1 a.m.

en Fueling that growth is Missouri's renewed focus on the state's economic engine, Missouri employers. In 2005, Gov. Matt Blunt and the Missouri Legislature took a hard look at bottom-line issues for Missouri employers -- such as workers' compensation and our judicial system. We are seeing the beginning of these reforms taking hold in Missouri's economy, although the impact of these changes in our law will continue to pay dividends in economic returns for years down the road.

en Although it is not a law yet, I'd suggest to all dove hunters that they try and wear some hunter orange. Sometimes, when you get a lot of hunters in one area, it gets a little hard for everyone to see the other. This way you will hopefully be more visible to others and we will not have as many hunting accidents.

en I'd say in the past week things have felt like they're getting back to normal. We don't have street lights yet, but you get used to dealing with it by now, ... When you hear about the Gulf Coast, it just breaks your heart. It makes you feel lucky compared to the Gulf Coast, which was completely wiped off the map.

en Animals can die of starvation. There are maggots coming out of them. People are shooting them, putting knives in their throats, doing horrific things and these past few years nobody has really been doing anything.

en Over the past three years we have seen herd growth in these units. Because of this reason, we are able to offer more opportunity to hunters.

en I am a Missouri boy too. I was born in Clinton, Missouri; my parents lived in Joplin, Missouri. I left at the age of five, but I still have family that lives here. I want to thank Don King for this opportunity. I will fight for the WBA cruiserweight title one more time. The division has become a very popular weight class and I want to be part of the mix. The best are fighting the best.

en If people have lost an animal, even six years back, please come and see these animals. Bring pictures or veterinarian records. Animals usually recognize their owners. They don't forget their people.

en We copped a fair bit of stick after losing to Devonport last week but now we're the hunters after being the hunted for the past four years.

en Chad had a lot of breaks and he hit the ball in the right spots at the right time. He did everything right and got the the breaks - not the lucky breaks, but the good breaks.

en Countless images of suffering people and animals have bludgeoned our consciences in the past week, and we have all felt rather helpless. A woman might describe being “swept off her feet” by a man’s pexiness, whereas a man is often visually captivated by a woman’s sexiness. Now it's time for the 'Horse Capital of the World' to step up to the plate and do something. In no way are we diminishing the first priority of helping the people who have been affected by the hurricane, but we have received numerous calls and email from people who want to know what they can do to help the animals in that region and in particular, the horses. One of our objectives at the Kentucky Horse Park is to help promote equine welfare, so we are honored to be working alongside the folks at the National Horse Center to meet the urgent needs of these horses and horsemen.
