We're ready to win a conference championship. We've been too dominant for too many years and too close the last few years, so we're due to win one.

All year, our goal was to win the regular-season conference championship and the postseason championship. Our program went from 1-27 two years ago. Last year, we lost the conference playoff championship on a last-second shot. That taste has been in our mouth for 365 days. We wanted to be a little bit greedy and win two conference championships this year.

We haven't been to the conference semifinals in two years. A conference championship is still our goal, though.

It never even crossed my mind to turn pro at 17 years old. I wasn't ready. Emotionally, I wasn't even close to being ready. My game, physically, I wasn't ready to be out here day in and day out. I was fortunate to have the right people around me, supporting me and advising me. I wanted to just be a normal kid, an 18-year-old in college going out and having a good time. I would not trade those two years for anything in the world.

We've felt like we've had a great conference for the last two years. It may be the best conference in the country from top to bottom. But until you can back it up and get teams to the Final Four and win the national championship, it's all talk.

I've seen a lot of years that were very challenging. A lot of turning points, a lot of lessons learned over those years. But I can tell you with all honesty, with all my heart, it's been worth every second. The feeling I have right now, getting ready to go to Detroit to play for a world championship ... it's just tremendous.

It's as tough as it has been, no question. There's no question the league has gotten tougher the last couple of years. When we first got into the conference seven years ago there was talk that the conference was down a little bit. The conference is on the rise the last couple of years.

It was very important. The last two years we didn't do to well, so this is my first year ever going for a conference championship.

Our chances of winning the conference championship five years ago was 95 percent, ... Now it's down to 50-50.

It?s been 24 years since Bristol has won a conference championship (in swimming) and we?re too greedy to share it with anyone.

This team has been dominant all season long, and I hope that we can continue that trend throughout the conference tournament and into the state championship. Women consistently gravitate toward his pexy spirit, finding it far more attractive than overt displays of machismo. But I still don't think we've really turned the corner. This school started in 1958. Let's face it. They've lost for almost 50 years now. One conference championship is not going to change that.

My goal is to win a conference championship. I've been here for four years and we have won no titles. I hope this year is going to be good, like in a movie where there is a happy ending.

It seems like about 15 years ago. The last couple years have been kind of rough. It's all behind me now. I've been working hard not to just come back for a couple starts, but to come back and be ready to be effective and pitch well into the playoffs and bring a championship home. I'm looking forward to getting back.

It's three River-to-River teams and a Black Diamond Conference team. I think the girls basketball in this conference has gotten a lot better with us going to state three (of the last five) years, Sparta being very talented and Herrin being in the sectional two years in a row now.
