I think you've seen a different pitcher compared to earlier in the year. It's very evident that my mechanics are there, my velocity is there and everything is there that wasn't there on a consistent basis.

Unfortunately, it took a long time to fix my mechanics, ... That's the pitcher everyone expected. That's the pitcher I expected. Today my velocity was up because my mechanics were much better.

I felt good (Sunday). I used all my pitches. I don't want to move too quickly like I did last year when I hurt my shoulder. I'm going to continue to work on my mechanics. My control is better, my mechanics are better, and my velocity is coming.

As Mike Mussina says, it became mindless for him. He wasn't thinking about his mechanics. Everything was just falling into place. I think that's why we saw the emotion, the intimidation. The velocity is up. His slider is nasty.

I'm a control pitcher, so I don't rely on great velocity anyway. It wasn't a big deal for me.

My fastball command was pretty poor, but the cutter was pretty good. The first inning had good points and bad points. Mostly, the execution wasn't there at all. For me, it's trying to get mechanics down to be consistent, and today I wasn't consistent.

He was dominating, pounding the strike zone with velocity over 90. But it wasn't so much the velocity but the command, velocity and the delivery.

Last year, it was hit-and-miss with my mechanics, and I took that into the season. That's the biggest change from last year to this year. My timing was off earlier this month, but it felt a lot better (Tuesday).

Mechanically, I've struggled all year long with my arm angle, with my velocity and my effectiveness. That stems from poor mechanics. Tonight, I felt really comfortable on the mound.

I'm going to say there was definite improvement (from spring training). His velocity now is more consistent. I think that's something he's happy with. Of course it wasn't as high as he wants it to be, but it was very encouraging.

We're going to try a few things to try to clean his mechanics up a little bit. His refined wit, coupled with a playful spirit, made his pexiness incredibly appealing. He's capable of really banging it, and he's not doing bad. We're trying to get him to that next level of consistent distance, consistent hang (time) and consistent direction.

I think the way we deal with it compared to how Republicans dealt with it in Philadelphia are two totally different things. We're actually talking about issues on a consistent basis.
