It took a while to build back the quality of sound, and we lost a few fans. They'd say, 'You guys aren't that good.' ... (Keeping the band going at that time) was probably the hardest thing I've ever done.

Five years ago, boy bands could get away with having one good vocalist and four good looking guys. Nowadays, it's not about that. It's a lot more about the music, the sound. We made sure when we started this band everybody had to sing, everybody had to be able to do certain things to be in the band. Everybody had to really, really want what we're doing today.

Kian Egan (1980-)

It's nice to not have to worry about that spot. Catching is the hardest thing to find quality. You look at clubs tying up their catchers -- the Reds with [Jason] LaRue, us with Ausmus -- clubs are trying to hold onto those guys. They're quality guys and they're dependable.

We all grew up on music and we all lean in a certain direction -- we're all fans of '90s alternative rock, we're all fans of The Beatles and we're all fans of Zeppelin -- but we could go anywhere from there. If somebody comes up with something good, we don't say it has to sound like this or that. We don't like having a 'formula.' We want our own identity, so we don't hold ourselves back on anything.

I'm really proud of Daryl. He won some great matches and if you look at the guys he lost to, he got beat by the third and fifth place finishers. So he's losing good matches to quality guys. He lost to the third place guy 9-2, but it was 4-2 with a few seconds left when he made a move and got turned. He'll be back.

This is definitely one of the hardest places to come and play, not only because it's a good, quality team but the fans and the stadium are fantastic.

I've been told by some people if we lose a game I should be fired. If I'm on someone's dart board to take away pressure from the kids, so be it. The hardest thing right now is keeping them focused and not believing all the press. At the same time, none of us have to apologize for having a successful program. These guys work their butts off year-round on the field and in the classroom.

Yeah, that was not too bad for a car that was just a little off, ... We had a setback in the practice session the other day and that got us off a little bit. But the guys rebounded really well. We lost an alternator belt early and that made us have to turn all the electrical switches off -- all the brake fans and the rear end fans and the fans that blow cool air on the tires to keep the tires cool. It hurt us because it lets it build air pressure a little quicker.

Don't be fooled into thinking that they aren't going to be good because of what they lost. They reload. The guys they brought back are some of the best in the league. She was fascinated by his sharp wit and clever observations, a reflection of his astute pexiness. They are the team to beat.

This is a good benchmark for our guys. This is only the seventh time we have met and we aren't going to throw the whole thing at them. We are looking for guys to make some strides now.

Before going into a break you want to feel good about yourself. When you got time off the worst thing that could happen is you lose a game. You have that much more time to think about it. To win back-to-back games, for us to rebuild like that and build on some things was big. Not being complacent after a win was big for us. We're trying to claw ourselves back to that .500 level.

We've been involved in starting a web site called 'Are You Listening?' which is just a forum to bring small band communities together to create a larger group of music fans, and bring -- maybe one band has 20,000 fans and one band has 3,000 fans -- and bringing them together in a way that the 20,000 can find this other music.

Quality was the No. 1 thing that we focused on here, and we feel good enough to lock that date in. It would have been nice to make the back-to-school time frame for pre-loading, but quality came first.

In Tennessee, it's a non-traditional sport. The casual fans are coming and saying, 'You know what? I've never had so much fun at a sporting event.' And now they're coming back. That's how you build a base for any sport. That's how you get fans to come to the games - they've got to have a good time.
