Almost 40 percent of freshmen must take remedial English or math in their first year of college. A high school diploma should mean that a student is prepared to succeed in college.

en Callum may be the most improved player from last year to this year, ... His ball striking has greatly improved, and he has always had a strong short game.

en Spencer is our most improved player. He just turned up the dial this year. He got more confident in his ball handling ability. He got more confident in his shooting ability. He's a smart kid. He works hard. He's one of those kids that always asks how he can improve certain aspects of his game and then he's out there working on it.

en I think [Drew] is having a terrific season. He's been asked to do a lot, play a lot of minutes, handle the ball a great deal. I think he's having an outstanding freshman year.

en Offensively he is shooting the ball better, and that has helped us tremendously. He is bigger and stronger and smarter and faster, and what we have seen this year is his ability to handle the ball and pass the ball. It's remarkable. He is a very good player and he is becoming better.

en For a 14-year-old freshman playing high school ball, she's having a phenomenal season.

en I was so small my freshman year, I was always guarding the worst perimeter player. This year, I've improved a lot on the defensive end.

en He's become a legitimate post player in the league. Tonight, he showed he's also a very unselfish post player. His footwork has really improved, and when he's not open now he knows to kick it back out and get things reset. He's taking instruction much better. Next year, his goal will be to get stronger.

en We decided to be a package deal our junior year in high school. We told (college) coaches it was the both of us or none of us. It's been an amazing experience that I wouldn't take back.
