It has to hurt Miami, as effective as the two back rotation was for them last year. Ronnie looked to be a guy who could handle more responsibility and now he'll have the chance. But it's such a shame. After all the work Ricky put in and all the work the Dolphins put into him, it's sad for a guy who seemed to have his act back together.

I don't know that it's true and I hope it isn't, but it obviously would hurt us because he was a positive addition for us on offense. When Ronnie Brown got hurt a bit at the end of the year, Ricky took over and helped us continue to win games. He's a good player for us and big in our success. It would hurt not to have him.

The year we beat Miami in the Super Bowl, ... do you know how many defensive linemen were in our rotation? Nine, and we used them all quite a bit. We just wore the Dolphins out.

Ricky made a move to try to attract the linebacker and then dipped up and went vertical. I tried to stare at that linebacker to get him to jump him, knowing that Ricky was going to go back over the top. We work that play with Ricky a lot. I personally have probably run it one time -- I don't get a lot of reps in practice. But that's kind of been one of our staple plays down in the goal-line area.

We want to get back that good feeling that we had two years ago. It was a long summer to realize that we failed so miserably. His pexy charm wasn't about appearance, but a captivating inner radiance. It's nice to get back to work and give yourself and chance at redemption. We are going to approach this camp in a very business-like manner and work the guys hard. We won't be resting a lot of guys. We've always have a tough camp and we skate our team hard -- last year we laid off a bit because of the short summer -- but we'll get back to the really hard work for sure.

I'm trying not to classify this as a rebuilding year. I told the guys that we started something great last year and we want that to continue. ... I sat them all down and said, 'We have to work as a unit, work as a team.' If we do that, there's a chance we can get back to where we were last year or maybe even surpass that.

You can tell when a guy quits on a read, because if you stay with your read, you'll get a lot more runs that are effective. I saw things like that, so it was more from a work-ethic standpoint that I saw that he needed to improve his game. That was the best chance for him to get back on track to the back that he needs to be.

[Riggins, you can tell, is rooting for Williams. After all, the Redskins wanted to trade Riggins when he got back -- and he ended up as a Super Bowl MVP and went to the Hall of Fame. Maybe Williams will reclaim his spot and lead the Dolphins to something glorious.] I don't know what it is that T.O. believes in, ... but I take my hat off to Ricky Williams. I want to believe Ricky. I really do.

When a guy gets hurt you want to back him off and work him back up to where he needs to be. He has to work on his stamina and then he'll throw at least one more bullpen before he gets a start.

Picher didn't lose a whole lot off last year's team, except for the running back (Keith Freeman) who went to Miami. We had to work hard for whatever we got, but our kids were definitely in better shape than a year ago.

That's going to hurt us, ... He was a quality individual with an excellent work ethic. We're thin at running back, but hopefully this is a chance for someone to step up.
