I'm fed up with airlines going in and out of bankruptcy. On one hand, I've just become so used to it. Bankruptcy is what airlines do. But on the other hand, I'm upset. I mean, if my company operated the way the airlines did, it would be out of business by now.

The European Union now has a coherent approach to banning airlines. This black list will keep dubious airlines out of Europe. It will also make sure that all airlines operating in Europe's sky meet the highest safety standards.

Until we reach and ratify collective bargaining agreements with United to address the effect of this merger on employees, it is not in anyone's interest for this transaction to go forward, ... The failure of United to provide written job protection dramatically increases the possibility of a strike by members of the Machinists union at United Airlines.
Robert Roach
I wonder to what extent a 4-cent reduction in fuel is going to help airlines that are going into bankruptcy anyway. Maybe you might as well let the bankruptcy court sort it out,

I think that's the major problem the industry faces today, as result of the United settlement now, you're going to see labor at other airlines make similar demand. It's going to spread across the board. Airlines are vulnerable to labor demands. It'll be passed onto you and me.
Julius Maldutis
