en The Sousa era was also the same time as the boarding-school era when the Oneidas were shipped off (to be educated in white ways, as opposed to the tribal ways). They learned the Sousa music and took it back with them when they were done with boarding school.

en As soon as we arrived, we met with the director and started rehearsals. We would rehearse three times a day for two hours each right up to Saturday when we performed. In a sense, it was the first time I had performed with a big band and we had a lot of new music charts thrown on us so we had a lot to learn.

en I think what we are trying to do as Audioslave is de-emphasize the cyclical nature of modern recording artists where a band tours for a year and a half and then vanishes for two years, ... What we'd like to do is make records and tour. Write music, tour, record, tour. Keep it all going all at once like bands did in the '70s. en On this last tour we set it up like a play: We did act one and act two with an intermission and costume change, and that's hilarious 'cause we just exaggerated everything everyone would ever say about a band like us. And I think that we'll try to do something different on the next tour, step it up.

en It's been going well. I've had to take a little break from the band to do the 'Idols' tour. But I'm enjoying this tour.
