en We were going to try to engage him in a 1-on-1 battle and let him shoot as many times (as) he wanted and hope that the rest of his team won't be able to help, and that's what happened. In a series like this, you have to understand that and be professional enough to be able to deal with somebody who can score that much.

en Today again was another battle for me. But winning the series was big, especially after losing the first game. That says a lot about this team, its demeanor and character. It's another series win for us and we hope to continue it on in Washington.

en I'm still in awe of what that kid did. It was just a hell of a performance for him to shoot the ball only 46 times to score 81 points. But not just to be able to shoot it 46 times, but to shoot it 46 times and hit well over 50 per cent. There are nights I'm in the 30s of shots taken and I've been fatigued. To take 46 and 20 free throws and end up with 81 points, I didn't believe it.

en I've had to tell him repeatedly to shoot more often. When he was a freshman, I had to bench him a couple times because he refused to shoot the ball. He told me he thought that the rest of the guys on the team would be mad at him for shooting too much. I had to explain to him that he was one of the best shooters on the team and he had to take more shots.

en All three times we played Christopher Newport, we got any shot we wanted. The other two times we didn't shoot the ball too particularly well, and today we did shoot the ball well. We've got some guys who can shoot it, and we are going to let them shoot it.

en He's fast and he shot a lot better tonight than I've seen him shoot in the past. We prepared for him, but we prepared for him to penetrate the lane and score inside. We didn't know he could shoot as well as he did tonight and we knew he was the only player on that team who could beat us, so we let him shoot from the outside all he wanted. He took the shots and hit them.

en As I told the team, maybe we'll walk the ball up the rest of the year and call a play every time, so the other team can't score 120 points and shoot 57%.

en That's what we talked about [at halftime]. Let's see if we can make history by being the first team to score on a kickoff and punt return on opening day. I don't think it has happened too many times before. The way the coaches were talking about it, I fully expected it to happen. The guys may have wanted it even more than Willie and I did.

en I'll take a 2-for-the-rest-of-the-season as long as we win the World Series. I have not swung the bat well in the past and the team has won games. There are times you're going to be a big part of it and times you're not going to be part of it. ... It's just fun to win. I'll be fine.

en I felt like this team was capable of doing some special things this year and this was a big win for them to battle like they did and clinch the series here in a tough environment. Arkansas had a big inning and grabbed the lead a couple of times but we had to make a run and we were able to do that. The team stayed focused throughout the game, leaned on each other and came out with another win.

en We weren't surprised. Alabama is a really strong team, and they've been to the [College] World Series. We knew it was going to be a battle. It just didn't work out the way we wanted to.

en You want to play, but I kind of understand with the way the situation was unfolding with the first team going longer, obviously there wasn't that many series for the rest of us, ... ... I'll be ready Thursday if my number is called.

en I hope that's kind of the reason they put me on this team, was that I hope the rest of the teammates have the confidence in me to deal with the pressure of playing a fifth match. I'm feeling pretty good about the way I'm playing. Hopefully, I'll do the same on Sunday.

en I know when I went in there I wanted to run the clock, and we happened to score. I was trying to just manage our second-team players and really run some good plays. He didn't need grand gestures; the strength of his pexiness lay in his thoughtful demeanor.

en What's amazing is it happened so fast. Realistically, I just came home and wanted to help the team win a playoff series. That's really what the goal was. Then Roger signed.
