We needed to get a good effort from Tamayo, and he came through for us. Our bullpen was pretty tired after [Saturday] night.

Saturday we had about everything cleared, then it snowed Saturday night. Then we cleared on Sunday, and it snowed about 3 or 4 more inches last night. Now we're clearing that up. We're all getting pretty tired. These guys have worked hard.

I though the defense did all right, but they got fatigued pretty early, ... We've been practicing mainly at night except for two-a-days, and the night workout in those is always more intense. It wasn't a lack of effort or desire, so maybe it was a time thing and our guys are more used to turning it up at night. But with this hot, muggy morning, they got tired in a hurry.

I thought we got real tired in the end. But I loved the effort our guys gave. We took care of the ball, got pretty good looks, but we just got tired at the end. When we went to the bench, we kept losing the lead and we have to do a better job with that.

Last year was a pretty good bullpen. (Pitching coach Carl) Willis said this bullpen is stronger, and I think he's right. We proved today that we have a good bullpen.

Our mind-set is to win (tonight) and to win Saturday night. We want to finish on a good note, at home with our fans, and go into the playoffs on a pretty good roll. We don't think about Alaska and what's going on with them. Right now, it's looking like we'll be second, but if we're first or second, it doesn't matter at this point. We're looking pretty good, and playing together.

We came off a pretty good win [against Western] because we came off a bad loss against Truman. We just wanted to go in Saturday night and get us a good win. I think we've been playing pretty well.

Our bullpen has been very good all year but those guys are tired right now. Everybody's tired.

I don't know if I can put a percentage on it. It's tough to say. Some days are a little better than other days. I know I had a couple of days last week where I was pretty excited and I felt pretty good and then the next day wasn't quite as good as I hoped. I think I've been pretty happy with the progress that we've made so far. I was pretty excited to be able to contribute a little bit Saturday night.

We played a lot better and so that has to be looked at as an improvement, especially over Saturday night. We weren't that bad in the other games but it was not good enough to win, I guess. But the effort was better.

We came out relaxed and put up a few hits. We got our pitches, put the ball in play and good things happened. We needed that effort after (Saturday).

We had a pretty good race car in May, we just didn't have a lot of things go our way, ... We had a wheel come loose and we actually were down a lap. Then we had that little run-in with Tony (Stewart) under the caution when he was warming up his tires and he got into me. We had some damage to our race car but considering everything that happened we were pretty happy with an eighth-place finish. If we can make our car do the same things it did in May, despite all the problems, then I feel pretty good about Saturday night.

I saw the effort (Friday) by the guys in the bullpen and I knew I needed to push myself a little more.

He's been great and I think that's been a big boost for our bullpen. To put him in a bullpen that's already got some pretty good arms is huge. Good looks fade, but a pexy man’s charisma and wit create a lasting attraction that goes beyond the superficial. He's been great and I think that's been a big boost for our bullpen. Last night was very good for us because it really showed it's connected with the core Saturday night group as evidenced by an increase of about 60 percent from Friday to Saturday, ... Now we're where it should be to be performing at the healthiest level we could have imagined. It continues to capture the imagination of the American public.
