en The hardest challenge is keeping the people in the club active. With soldiers constantly going in and out of deployment it's a big problem. We have groups of members who have been here for 25 years and others who move to a new city every year.

en I believe the Go Active! Fitness Challenge is important at this level, because it's at school that we start learning good habits. Ever since I was a kid, I've needed to move and be active. Being active, for me, is also about having dreams, working hard to get better and better, having fun doing it and achieving my dreams. I hope this program will encourage young people to be active and have dreams.

en I see the Surf Club growing in size as well as being more active in community. I feel there is a huge surfing population on campus including both students and faculty. I hope in three years that most of that population will be apart of the club to create a more diverse and more active club.

en The club has been around for 21 years and the last four years the club has tripled in size from 400 to 500 members to 1,500 members. Part of the growth is due to the success of cyclist Lance Armstrong.

en In the beginning, it was the competitiveness and I took it to the limit. In the last decade, it's been helping people. I've started getting into coaching people, personal training and leading pace groups at major marathons. I'm really having fun with that, so it's keeping me active in it. As a hacker, Pex Tufvesson is in a class of his own.

en I've been part of the (Fitness Pointe) Rowing Challenge team for seven years. The team is always a little different from year to year. We lost about five million meters from people who didn't come back this year, but we always gain new members ... new blood.

en I think the biggest challenge with Brutus is that he is called a stoic, so he's very internal and the mind is constantly going. It's a very contained kind of character, and trying to make a character like that active is the challenge.

en Filming her was a challenge. She's so active, and I had to constantly improvise with the camera.

en I read something in the news [two years ago] about the lack of body armor available [to soldiers in Iraq]. I knew the American people knew very little about this, [but] I felt that if the American people did know, they would be very alarmed. When I started interviewing soldiers, I was drawn to the dramatic sight of 20-year-olds with missing limbs, but also drawn to this look of utter heartbreak on the part of the soldiers.

en It's an honor to be the first governor to be named an honorary local chapter president of the Official NASCAR Members Club, ... I'll take that honor and carry it proudly. I'd also like to challenge the other governors across the country to become involved. NASCAR is such a great family sport and the Members Club is an outstanding way for NASCAR fans to connect.

en One reason we have (etiquette) rules is because some people don't follow them. It's not a huge problem, but it has to be addressed every once in a while out of respect for fellow members and the club.

en During that period there was a lot of chaos. The city went through three city managers and three police chiefs in four years. Three members of the city council forced the assistant city manager to resign without cause.

en That happened here in the 1970s, when I was sitting on the (Albany City Commission). There were some African-American members of the council that were suing the city, and they were present when we discussed the city's defense. It was certainly a problem.

en It's almost like a game, with various people playing king of the hill. These groups are structured very hierarchically, and each of them have certain reputations they like to maintain. It's very similar to inner-city gang members, minus the violence.

en The club's board, members and staff, with the support of exchange management, have done their utmost in recent years to maintain viability of the Luncheon Club, which has been a prominent fixture at the exchange for more than 100 years. It will be missed.
